I'm wondering if there is a kit ready to be installed in my upcoming 2016 silverado high country 4WD. I guess it will come with aluminum control arms.

I'M noob in this category so if there is a direct link to purchase it would be nice.

Same as 14-15.

For you guys with 2" lowering shackles that had to use shims: I had Belltech 2" lowering shackles installed on my 2014 RCSB, with no other mods. Now I have a vibration in the 20-30 mph range, that wasn't there before. I'm planning to shim it now, but my question is should the shim be installed directly between the bottom spring and the block, or between the block and the mounting perch that the block sits on? I've read through the thread, but it's not entirely clear to me.

Thanks in advance.

Take the block out too it will still be higher in the rear trust me! Install the shim between the axle perch and spring.

I ordered McGaughys 2/4" economy lowering kit. it has front relocators, rear lowering shackles, and rear leaf springs, also ordered a rear shock extenders.

I hope this is the correct way to lower a 4WD truck

Edit: when I remove the rear blocks do I need to get a different U-Bolts? I prefer safety due to my aggressive driving :D

I like it, but scrolling through, it looks like someone stole your wheels and left it on the ground.

Im looking at lowering my 2014 Denali. The stance on the truck in link looks just about right. Im going to try to get the details on the lowering kit used for this with similar wheel size. Says 3"/5" drop kit. What do you think?

Is your's a 2 or 4 wheel drive? I've read you can get some driveline vibration issues going much lower than 3-4 in the rear. I'd bet that truck in your photo has a 5/7 drop, but who knows since the massive wheels may make it look more lowered.

Not true I have a 3-5 Drop no vibes and drive shaft issues either.

Well this thread is thoroughly exhausting.

I can't say I absorbed all 47 pages of info, but, I guess I'm kind of surprised that with only a 2" shackle that there are issues with bump stocks, shocks, pinions and bearings.

I ordered the McGaughys 33037 today for my 2wd '15 CC SB. I'm kind of having second thoughts because I don't want to deal with all these problems.

Would a 2/4 kit from say djm address these issues as a kit? Maybe I should bite the bullet and drop the whole thing rather than going with the "see if I like it" first step of a drop shackle. I really dont want to lower the overall ride height, but I'm just concerned.

Anything I do will be professionally installed. I dont like to do suspension work myself. I drive too much to trust my own work.

your not gonna have any issues with just installing shackles.

I wouldnt really say that. My CC standard bed required me to get an adjustable carrier installed. I have vibrations at 20 mph and 60 mph and 80 mph. Shimming the rear end would correct it. However the carrier bearing, install, and adjustment was only $150 total and if I decide to go lower I dont have to buy anything else. All in all it was a very minor "issue" that I dont think anyone should freak out about needing.

I did a 3-5 and still no issues.

    • If there are updates/fixes you want, you could pay to have the updates applied by the dealer.
    • Hi all - my current truck is a 2022.5 1500 High Country 3.0. I bought the truck used last year. After doing some digging, I noticed that my truck's software is stuck on the original build from 2022. I have no available software updates. I talked to my dealer about this and they recommended not trying to force an update since the 36,000 mile warranty is expired. This is a big bummer since there have been many major releases since that have fixed small issues and improved speed/usability.   For reference, the current software build number is: full_gminfo37_gb-user 10 W158E-W164.4.2-QIH22B-563.3 158 release-keys Has anyone had a similar experience? Should I just forget about it and move on, or try a different dealer?
    • Sure. Buy it for me 🤣
    • Using zip ties but 2-3 they snap due to sharp edges. Just using a shoestring. Last longer. 🤣
    • I ordered the Snap On...waiting for it to come in later this week or early next week.   New front cover, new crank seal and new balancer are on. Water pump, pulley, fan, hoses, and plastics reinstalled. I can move forward knowing all my timing marks are dead on and the front engine is hopefully sealed better than it was. Take 2 with the water pump...trying high temp thread sealer on the lower bolts.   Rebuilt injector and new-new regulator is in, it looks like new. Top intake reassembled and all the bits are reconnected and snugged down.   Thinking about knock sensors again, I located both of mine and, there's your problem, Francis... The driver's side one is broke, plastic is bashed in, part of the wire is bare, and it appears to have been damaged like that for a long time. I saw the wire but didn't think anything of it. The knock sensor might not be my pulled timing issue, but it sure looks suspect. It must still be conducting, otherwise I'd expect a CEL. But perhaps with its sacred crystal inside exposed, jilted and dirty, maybe it's sending mixed signals. So I'm waiting for one of those and a new pigtail to come in. Pass side sensor looks good, except for the spark plug wire resting on it (!). The plug wires are healthy so it shouldn't be causing an issue, but I separated them and added zip ties to nearby looms to keep everything well apart.   So, I'm down to installing a knock sensor AND, oh, replacing the exhaust and cat. I actually think that's going to be fairly easy, it's all bolt-together, all new stuff from Walker is laid out on the shop floor ready to go. Hopefully have this thing on the road again for the weekend.   My luck? It will still be leaking oil, coolant, pulled timing, intermittent CEL for running rich, or it probably won't run at all -- because that's how this project has gone.   I've never worked on a vehicle so ...hurt? ...cursed? in my life. Everything has been effed with SO HARD, but I think...knock on wood...I've managed to undo all the backyard stuff and we're almost reset back to "just" an 80k mile, 30 year old Blazer.
