Why put the block on top of the leaf spring, it's not doing anything there. Why not just remove it.

I took it in to get it done. They told me if I wanted to remove the block or just flip it, if I wanted to remove it would need new u bolts. The CC belongs to my dad but my RC has the same work done to it.

The only thing you cut off is the bump stop bracket.

For some reason I was under the impression the rear mount the shackle bolts too also had to bet cut off, I'll have to look into it further, I just want to be able to easily go back to stock if need be.

If you do a shackle flip which can put you at 4, 5, or 6" of drop then you just grind out the rivets and bolt in the new hanger. I'm at 7 so I just did the flip kit

And any recomendations on rear shocks for a regular cab? I hear a lot of people say everything is designed for the heavier crew cabs and ride rough on the regular cabs, the front belltech rides much better then the stock rancho's, was thinking of going with the belltech street performance 2212FF.

I went with the 2212ff shocks in the back of mine and it rides so much better than the Ranchos.

Thanks for the info, I'm thinking 4 or 5 inches is where I would like to be

That's good to hear, with the belltech's in the front only right now, the front feels so much better, the back feels terrible, I really have to change them out.

Looks awesome. Love that wheel/tire combo.

This is 3" front 6" rear. I have the belltech shocks all the way around and using the front strut to lower 1" of the 3. The other 2" is a djm arm. Belltechs ride great.9ef2a2c204bb35ee847d6003bf305ede.jpg6f199a8f78cbbe5d64419f301ce5a50b.jpg

Looks great! Would love mine to sit like that but might need to stay a little higher, we can get a lot of snow here that's why I wanted a 4x4 haha

Anyone have a recommendation on a flip kit, or are they all pretty similar? Looks like I can get the belltech one a bit cheaper then mcgaughys, but I don't mind paying more for quality products if it's worth it.

Mine's a 4x4 for the snowy months. We get small snowfall tho and mostly ice. I used a Maxtrac kit as I have a buddy there. It also shifts the axle back an inch so I dont have to deal with driveshaft shortening.

This s not ways true I know people who have gone 10" drop and not had to shorten. I know guys with 5" drop and need to have theirs shortened. I'm at 7 and I need to have mine shortened.

Chevy was dumb on this one and didn't out same length driveshaft in all the trucks. My buddies stock driveshaft is 1 1/4" shorter then mine. Both are 16s

Yeah not always, but it was safer this way.

But mine did end up with the same length of reveal on the slip yoke, so it worked out ok. When I pull it to balance it, I'll likely remove an inch and have the perches in the flip kit drilled to re-center it.

That's if I keep the truck. I'm vastly unimpressed with the stuff that gm does these days. I can fix it all with enough $ thrown at it, but damn. GM does not use their head for shit.

And maxtrac, belltech and mcg all move the axle.back. they are all pretty much the same. I just prefer mcg products
