So does anyone have a experience on how the ride is with a drop  and helper bags?  I am considering a 2-3" drop in the rear (shackle and/or spacer) and adding helper bags for when I tow larger loads.  Front is stock right now.  My goal would be to keep it relatively level, but I just don't want to sacrifice the ride.  I have the  4x4 z71 offroad package with the stock Ranchos in the rear.

I was looking at Air Ride helpers, but wasn't sure what to look for in shackles.  Any suggestions would be helpful, thanks!

I had helpers with my 4/7.  Rides fine

So after almost a thousand Kms run, here are my initial thoughts. First, as a reference, I am running on all Belltech parts, currently on 2” lowering struts for front and the rear has  a flip kit set at 5” using the factory shackle with Lowering  shocks. 4WD 2017 Silverado rcsb.

it rides smoother than my previous set up( 2” drop shackle with blocks removed). No more bump steer on the rear. I feel the shocks(2210ff) definitely bounce stiffer. Maybe a litter softer shocks will be what I will prefer. But overall, it rides great. At one occasion I purposely ran over a curb for both tires on the driver side, and I can say it bounces better than stock, by far.

this week, I am installing the spindles, set the struts at 1” to achieve a 3” drop for the front. Rear will be adjusted to 6”. hope I will like it.

on the side note, I am aiming  to lower the front to 3” but hoping not to the extent of replacing bushings Just to get the alignment to spec.

your thoughts are well appreciated. Tnxs

If you're using all Belltech stuff I would leave the shocks at 2'' if you are going to go 6'' in the rear.  I'm only 3/4'' higher in the rear with shocks at 2'' and 2'' spindles in the front.  I even took the last 10mm ring out of the right side to level on the front side to side since my right side was 3/8'' higher than the left. he last 10mm only dropped it down the 3/8 to even it out.  so you might risk being a little lower in the rear if you set the shocks to 1''. Look at my pictures and decide for yourself.

You’re truck is nice!

Since you are on a 4/6, it is also required to replace the bushing to get to alignment spec?

Thanks, man!

yes, I did replace the upper control arm bushings to get my camber in spec.  It was a huge pain in the ass to press the old ones out, even with the tools that Belltech supplied.  bushings4.thumb.JPG.ad8f310e3dc11bf1248fae7fa5ef09f3.JPG

Yes, way too stiff. I wander if QA1 or Ridetech have shocks suitable for our application. Hmmm

I have qa1 adjustables in back.   Tbeyre great but you have to grind a little of the lower shock mount off so the shock body doesnt rub it   they're perfect

Weird, I don't find them too stiff.

I am still holding my thoughts until I get to my final settings. The 6” drop might be it’s designed compression height, maybe. As of the current set up (2/5), the bounce seems a bit stiff for me. Plus it’s still practically brand new(almost 1000km), no load at the rear other than a full tank of gas, etc...maybe these are contributory factors to the designed compression ride quality.

I’ve kept on looking back to this post, your truck reminded me of a YouTube post, see a snapshot I took back in Jan last year...lol.

may I ask the brand as well as the specs of your rim and tire? Tnxs
