LED Fog Bulbs & Lights

Those PIAA LED fogs would be perfect but I need that bracket. I also like the Hella LED fog lamps but there would also be some type of fabrication required. Has anyone on here tried these Hella's in the stock location? The Hella's are my 1st choice but The Putco are the only ones so far without any fab required. I also checked the the Putco are also a true fog pattern like the PIAA and Hella.

So I heard back from Putco and Luminix fog lamps are DOT compliant, but will require to be adjusted at the right angle to optimize the light angle on the road. So I have to decide between the putco or PIAA if I can get a bracket from Jon A. I do not think the Hella will fit in the opening since they have a bulkier bracket than the PIAA. Down side to Putco is a 15degree focus which would make it a narrow beam like a spot beam.

How much would it cost? Just curious! Keeping the OEM look, getting a better light, no major modifications needed. Oh hell yea!

Also how does the color do compared to the LED DRLs? Just curious cause I know sometimes pictures don't do much justice.

OK guys, each bracket and bezel is going to be about $50, so $200 for a set of all four. Delivery will be about three weeks. If anybody wants them, just PM me.

The color of these I'd say is a bit whiter than the DRL LED's, but a much closer match than the stock fogs and headlights are.

So has anyone tried the Oracle 5202 SMD LEDs in there Fogs? Wondering if they would/will be to bright? Trying to decide between these and the VLED ones.

Don't think anyone has tried the Oracles yet. I would say give them a try! I think they would work well.

The 5202 led they use is a super low output led. Won't be bright at all but will look very white.

Installed the VLED bulbs last week and really like the look (not much difference in light output)

Biggest thing I noticed during installing the new bulbs is that they don't just snap in secure (as mentioned in prior posts) Well a small amount of electrical grease around the rubber O ring makes a world of difference and they snap right in.

I installed HID Guys 5k HIDs in the fog lights. I ordered the 25 watt kit so it won't melt the housing. It was pretty easy and buying the 5202 wire adapter helped out a lot. The color doesn't match the DRLs that well, but I'm sure the 4300 hid kit would. Hopefully I can find time soon to install my 55w 5k HIDs from TRS in the headlights to somewhat satisfy me while I keep contemplating if I'm going to tackle the projector retrofit my self.

I wonder if anyone knows the color temp of the LED daytime running lights to make a perfect match on aftermarket LED fog lamps.

LEDs are between 4500K and 5000K I believe.

It seems like the consensus is that 4300k comes closest to matching. But 5000k owners seem to be happy with the match. Im among the 5000k crowd. But I also don't spend much time looking at my truck while slapping the monkey either.
