Question

My 2004 GMC Sierra 2500HD has been fitted with new Power Steering Pump, remanufactured /new power steering gear box, new remanufactured hydroboost and new hoses.

The New GM pump is quiet for a few hundred miles then begins to whine and then gets to whinning all the time.

The steering works just great and the brakes work great. it does not whine with pressure on the brake or when turning the wheel. I have been through 4 pumps now in a year to try and get it to quieten up.

The pump never made a noise when the truck was new until i had a mechanic screw with the gear box and i had to replace it.

Could it be a restriction in the fluid cooler?

Does anyone have any experience with this maddening problem?
