Roll n Lock or Rollbak G2? Any comment or recommendations? What about durability, water leakage, dust leakage, the fit, etc. Thanks.

New member and I thought I would get started with my first review of the Extang Solid Fold Tonneau

PRICE:

I purchased from Zig's Auto through Amazon for $689 with free shipping ($310 less than retail). I ordered late Thrusday night, it shipped via FEDEX Friday afternoon, and was delivered this morning.

INSTALLATION:

I unpackaged and installed in 10 minutes unassisted. Cover is very solid glass filled aluminum clad but weighs in at less than 50 pounds. I could have installed faster but I was picky on the positioning. The design is extremely simple and attaches by the cab with a single clamp on each side using a large wing nut to tighten without the need for tooling. True bolt on with zero modifications (no cutting or drilling)to the truck.

Fit:

High quality product with great fit and finsh. I will post up later after it goes through the car wash/leak test. At first I thought it would have been nicer if it were about 1" longer and then I realized that it would not work as the tailgate would wedge against and lift the back end up while openning.

Looks:

Tastses vary but I really like it. The cover looks like it is supposed to be on the truck and not an afterthought that was scabbed on.

Pros / Cons:

The feature I like about ease of installation and removal also means it can be stolen in less than 2 minutes wit an unlocked tailgate. I recommend you keep your tailgate locked while your truck is unattended!

Very informative thread. I ended up going with the Extang solid fold. Impressed with initial quality and fit. Tie will tell if it holds up.

Anybody have a Retrax bed cover or know of any that does? Feedback is appreciated.

I'm not a fan of them, because you loose valuable box area up front. That 8 inches or so is pretty important when hauling some things, and wanting the tailgate closed. I will be going with the truxedo for that reason.

Mine will be a standard length bed, so I'm not too worried about that lil bit of space loss. I like the idea of the retractable covers and these look like some of the nicest and most durable ones on the market. Sealed bearings, durable construction, limited lifetime warranty. Sounds like I've already made up my mind. LOL.

These things look sharp! Anybody have one or know of any that does and care to give some feedback is appreciated.

i have a retrax one. For about two weeks. So far so good no complaints.

I have one for my truck. They make two different kinds. One a Retrax and the other a Retrax Pro. I got the Retrax which is the less expensive one and had them punch out the holes in the Retrax rails system to match the truck bed rails holes in the truck. They did this at no cost. This way I could use more options without the Retrax system being in the way.

Another system that doesn't have a canister is the following:

Either way I like my Retrax and had it for about five months. My sister had hers for over two years and I never heard of a complaint about it.

I'm assuming you ordered direct from Retrax to have the modification to the rails performed? What other bed products do you use with the modded system?

Yes, you or the place you order it has to be completed by Retrax. It is a direct order and has to be requested at that time.

I have the solid fold on my 2014 . I think the cover is worth getting . It does let some water in the bed when it gets washed but not enough to cause any promblems .
