2014+ Truck Bed / Tonneau Covers

I'm going to need a cover for my 2018 Double Cab.

I've had a Truxedo LoProQT on my Canyon for about 6 years, and I have been very happy with it. I've had no issues with wear, deterioration, or tension.

Is there a lower cost soft roll up I could consider instead, that would perform as well, or is it truly a "you get what you pay for" scenario?

my Tyger rollup is model TG-BC2C2059 purchased on Amazon.ca.. it is listed on Amazon.com for $219. Really happy with it so far but I've only had the truck for a week. It has survived a couple severe thunderstorms leak free.

Wow. That Tyger is cheap!

Can the rolled up cover be removed from the truck, while the rails stay installed?

Is it easy to release the tension and roll up?

I may be down for one of these, too. @STRMTRPR can you please take a picture of the locking mechanism and the release mechanism? They show the catch on the rails on Amazon, but not the bar on the cover that locks into it. I used to have a truck with a Truxedo cover on it. This looks similar but want to see if it looks as sturdy as the Truxedo mechanism was.

Doesn't look like the vinyl is easily removed. Looks like it's semi-permanently attached to the bar that runs across the bulkhead and that is bolted to the side rails.

Hmm, yeah, ok. My Truxedo comes off entirely by just sliding two spring loaded handles / clamps. The tension is also super easy to adjust, and I've never had to make any adjustments based on temperature.

I'd also love to see more detailed pictures of each part of the cover. There are numerous reviews on Amazon, but they are all very shallow. Only pictures of them in the unrolled position, and many of the reviews simply comment on the ease of installation, and how waterproof it is, while providing few additional details.

Sure, it's a roll up cover, it's pretty basic. But, if I can't see and touch it before I buy it, I want to have a real good idea of what I am getting before I order.

Being able to completely remove the vinyl cover isn't really a necessity for me so I bit the bullet and ordered the TG-BC2C2060. Should be here tomorrow. I'll answer any questions you have once I receive and install it, likely tomorrow afternoon.

Awesome. I don't think I'm in a big rush to buy. I don't seem to cover the bed that much in the summer anyway.

I just bought this truck last week. Had a topper on my last truck that my better half insisted we have, and I hated. We boat almost every weekend so I need something on my bed ASAP.

I like the look of yours. Seems lower profile so I assume it is the T2 Low profile.

They offer a T1 and T2 model.

Well, not so much for the RetraxOne, it only has one locking point which is not very good. RetraxPro covers have two locking points. The best is RollNLock A-Series if you are using the tailgate hardware piece. RNL is the only cover with four locking points.

.. awesome it's a race then .. if yours doesn't arrive tomorrow I'll try to grab some pics in the daylight.

The installation instructions aren't the greatest but I installed my side rails all the way forward in the bed and the roll up section is attached with the bolts on the end (the nuts are on the bolts for shipping)

The roll up section is bolted to each side rail but I don't foresee myself ever needing to completely (or quickly) remove this - but they do provide a storage bag to keep it in if you do remove it.

Mine shipped, the good Lord willing and the creeks don't rise, it should be here between noon and 3 tomorrow, at which time I will drop everything and begin the install.

My only concern is, I have the plastic OEM drop-in bed liner and I'm not sure if I want to leave it in the bed or remove it first. I may install it with it in there then remove it later (I didn't really want it, but it came with the truck)
