Thank you both. Do you know the capacity with this cover? Stock is 5.5 pints/2.75 quarts if I’m reading it right. So what is the new quantity with this cover? I ordered it so I need to go ahead and get me some AMSOIL fluid too. So these folks don’t make a front cover? If they do I didn’t see it. You running 75W-90?
The new capacity is 3.xx quarts so you need to order 4 to make sure you have enough.
No there isnt a front one that I know of.
And yes on the amsoil 75w-90.

I am waiting on the next video  about the one that they are making i thought they were very helpful vids I was thinking about buying one until I saw them and how it works

Saw the same one, he’s now coming out with his own model which looks just like the the G2 and all the others. He got a lot of attention from these videos and got exactly what he wanted by doing so, “attention!”

Regarding all the diff covers convo. Banks power did a pretty interesting series of videos on how the flat backed covers mess with fluid dynamics and heat up the fluid, while overfilling or filling more than the 4qt set amount can cause excessive aeration in the fluid which weakens it's performance.

Seems like the most performant setup for longevity, regardless of towing or not, is to keep the stock cover.

That’s actually false, banks made videos that got that type of attention and obviously found that they do work cause “now” he’s made his own versions too. He made those videos for publicity reasons and obviously worked. He’s now introduced his own versions to add to the list. I’ve had mine changed twice so far along with buddies of mine and found absolutely zero excessive wear on any diff parts.

That’s correct, I believe there’s an additional additive added as well for limited slip diffs

Because of convenience of having mine done every 7k miles at a buddy’s shop, ( I know, overkill) Lucas 85w-140 plus and add a friction modifier Dana Spicer # 43161

When changing out the fluid Twice, and after 35 mile highway run I’ve had the off-road shop look at the fluid and found zero issues due to my OCD on preventative maintenance

I ordered a yearly spring cabin air filter and some spraymax 2k clear in a can.  It's easier to just use that instead of breaking out the hvlp and making a paint booth.  I have to go to my local paint supplier and have a can of the black mixed up in an aerosol can, and then I can finally finish these headlights!

Thanks! I’m just gonna order 6 quarts and do both. May as well do the transfer case while I’m at it. I’m not going to add a friction modifier (unless I read compelling reasons) and couldn’t even find one on the AMSOIL website. I assume both front and back use the same 75w-90. Yes I do know the transfer case doesn’t use the 75w-90, my intentions are to do both diffs AND the xfer case too.

That's my plan too, get 6 qts of amsoil 75w-90 and then get 2 qts of their auto transmission fluid for the transfer case.

If you don’t have an AMSOIL account, you can go through @Black02Silverado and get a pretty good price. He hooked me up with my first order of engine oil. Better than I could get without a Preferred Customer Program. Not trying to sell anything, he even got my first year free.

They’ve already made one, findings were inconclusive which now (as was expected) Banks is coming out with his own version to add to the increasing amount of new Diff covers entered into the market. In his video he even stated that he doesn’t even know what the outcome will be on his new design. As thought, publicity stunt while working on a new diff to get a contract with GM on their new HD diff covers. It was a way to attract attention for his name, BS’er!

I don’t buy what he is saying one bit. While I will admit, I am adding the G2 98% for looks. The added capacity and cooling effects are a bonus. It may not be one bit of a benefiting Mod but there is no way I can believe it has any negativity other than making my wallet a tad thinner...but it’s my wallet

You’re absolutely correct! His first video started off looking for reasons not to have an aftermarket Diff Cover, his last video has him introducing his Banks model. I found his first video to be BS especially after I later found out he’s one of the manufacturers out there that were trying to get a GM HD contract. It’s all publicity and even his video states he has no idea what his diff cover is going to produce, guess there’s a dumbass/guinea pig born everyday. These fin cast iron and aluminum cooling systems have been around for over 100 years. On board ships, the keel cooling systems even have fins on their outer radiator boxes. Everything Banks has done is for publicity and he’s got it, GM is now planning on using him for rear end mods.

Here’s an article on him winning the contract for the newest military vehicles and yes, these are the same vehicles that have been grounded due to massive breakdowns and major motor issues, yeah, all you have to do is some research.

Here’s a new article on the new military JLTV’s Banks has worked on.
