2000 sierra 2500. 4x4 issue

I have a 2000 sierra 2500 and I currently have the service 4wd light on. My problem is that the push button is not 100%. The orange light on it does not come on. But I guess you could call them the interior lights for the push button come on. There are no codes showing from it. When turning the key all the orange lights come on, including the red one for neutral but then quickly turns off. I might have an idea of what it is but not sure entirely. Any and all help would be appreciated.

Maybe a bad switch or actuator?

Had the switch not acting right on my 98 Yukon, removed switch, cleaned it and reinstalled, been working fine for last several years...

needs to be scanned or throw parts at it ,,,,good luck !!!
