Normal mode, unless I want to get frisky.  Off road when crawling off road.  Tow/haul when towing or rescuing people who are stuck in the sand at the beach or the side of the road in a freak historic snowstorm.

2 hi for everyday driving.  Also 2 hi in the rain.  I don't mind getting sideways as long as I can control it, which I usually can.

4 high for driving offtoad on roads you wouldn't dare take a crossover SUV and fresh snow where I can't find traction in 2 hi.

4 lo is for sand and mud.  It's usually for sand since I live near a gulf coast beach.

4 auto for when I can't control driving sideways in the rain.

2wd 99% of the time for me. If I need to run errands or have appts in sloppy snowy weather, it's 4 auto.

Mine has been run in Normal mode since I got it. As far as the transfer case, 2high all the time. I did use 4 low one time pulling a tractor out of mud up to the frame. Didn't even breath hard. Mine has the baby diesel.
