quise2024 Posted June 8, 2015 Posted June 8, 2015 Just found this thread as I was wondering why I didn't have a handle. Read the first 15 pages just out of curiosity on everyone's experiences. Funny how last year shopchevyparts and gm were shipping out at around $45, but now with shipping charges you pay almost $60.. shame Will hit up that ebay link and get me one
quise2024 Posted June 10, 2015 Posted June 10, 2015 Ugh man i forgot to check amazon too :/ Paid $49 shipped from eBay. ETA is the 15th but im hoping fedex does a good job and gets here by friday

Daly Posted June 13, 2015 Posted June 13, 2015 Does it block the view? I don't even notice its there when driving…
mjager Posted June 13, 2015 Posted June 13, 2015 Can someone please post a video of actually using a drivers side assist handle? Personally, it seems the location would make it awkward to use?
Daly Posted June 13, 2015 Posted June 13, 2015 I don't have a video, but it isn't that awkward. It's basically a little higher then the steering wheel most people grab. The handle is very useful when complemented with steps. While I do use it to get in and out of the truck, it's also very useful to clean off the roof…
SouthernSilveradoGuy85 Posted June 13, 2015 Posted June 13, 2015 Can someone please post a video of actually using a drivers side assist handle? Personally, it seems the location would make it awkward to use? To try it just try it on the passenger side. I don't really use it unless I'm cleaning the windshield. Plus I plan on keeping it as long as I possibly can so I may be having to use it to get in the truck in the future lol. I don't even use the steps for myself either, but most other people (like my mom, uncle and grandma and also some friends) use them. I don't have a video, but it isn't that awkward. It's basically a little higher then the steering wheel most people grab. The handle is very useful when complemented with steps. While I do use it to get in and out of the truck, it's also very useful to clean off the roof… When I wash my truck I stand on top of my toolbox when I'm washing the roof. But, I do use the handle to hold on to while cleaning the windshield.
Daly Posted June 13, 2015 Posted June 13, 2015 I have a soft tonneau, and soon to have a topper, can't stand on those. But all the handles come in handy when cleaning the roof, just open the door, stand on the steps and hold the handle if I need to… I do use it for the windshield too…
chuckl1218 Posted June 14, 2015 Posted June 14, 2015 I used to grab the steering wheel while getting in and ou, but now I use the handle... I rent a lot of vehicles. Recently, I rented a 2015 Tahoe that didn't have the handle, but did have steps. I really missed the assist handle now that I used it in my truck...
Habs Posted June 14, 2015 Posted June 14, 2015 Yeah it was the first thing I did to my truck. Dealer put it on for $65 bucks taxes included. Got tired of grabbing the steering wheel. The handle makes getting in and out 100x easier now, no more sliding over the seat bolster.
mjager Posted June 14, 2015 Posted June 14, 2015 Can someone provide a "how to" link to install it please? Thanks
mjj Posted June 14, 2015 Posted June 14, 2015 Got mine on Amazon for $37.50 shipped. Hmm. Finally got around to ordering mine. Was $42 with free shipping from Amazon.

See post 97 for instructions and just before that there are pics of it installed. Not awkward to use at all.
