Got mine yesterday and installed it. It took me about 30 minutes, but I was very cautious since it's a newer truck and the airbag was right there. Fit and finish is good. I paid $44.00 shipped on ebay. Should have done it last fall. I just wanted it for when my back goes out, anything to grab onto is good/great. It should have came from the factory with it. I am surprised that dealers don't make a "package" upgrade with this, cargo hooks, decent floor mats, bed lights and give the customer a break on price.

I agree. I've got that entire "package" now. Only the bed LED lights came on it new.

Installed mine today. Great fit. Works as designed!

You don't actually have to remove the tether. You can fold it back, just separate them, and put the spike in the hole in between the lines. I did it that way, just in case I ever wanted to put the original trim piece back on.

Mine fits perfectly, but you do need to separate the lines in the tether, and go right between them with the spike.

That's what I did with mine too. Took me a few minutes to figure out but it fits perfectly once you do that.

Just installed my shale colored drivers assist handle in my 15' Silverado with the cocoa dune interior. Fit and finish is perfect. I ordered mine off Amazon and it came in two days even though it wasn't supposed to get delivered for four.

A couple tips I didn't see mentioned. When removing the plastic retaining clip on the original trim, you do not need to cut it. People mentioned zip tying it, but if you look closely, the metal retaining clip holding it to the A pillar actually has a slot for inserting the clip on the free end of the tether. So it basically just snaps back into itself, which is how I did mine. Also, since I didn't want to cut the clip, I was careful to detach it from the original trim carefully in case I need to revert it back. To remove it from the original trim, you just need to push in the black plastic tab that goes through a small slot on the original trim piece. When you get in there you'll see what I mean. You push the tab down and through the slot and it comes completely free intact. You then just stick the extruding metal clip on the free hanging end into the opening on the metal clip holding it to the A pillar. It's now secure and out of the way. I added a photo below of the tether secured to itself when I was done so you can see what I mean.

I did however need to cut off the triangular plastic guide on the new piece of trim. With the guide there, the new trim would not line up nicely and give me a nice flush fit. I just used metal snips and snipped it off - took 5 seconds. Once off, the new piece fit nice and flush. I figured that guide is not needed since the bolts that mount it are basically right on either side of the guide and it would add nothing in the way of stability or function.

Once bolted in, everything looks prefect - better than some of sections of trim in the back I haven't even touched. Huge improvement for me, and my leather seats will thank me for it. Got it on amazon for $51.60 with free shipping. Search for: 23285089

Hey guys. I'm a little late to the party but....just got my 15 1500 Silverado. My drivers side doesn't have the handle but I did pull the trim down to see if I had the 2 brackets to hold the handle and they are there. My question is there are holes to bolt the handles to but they are not threaded. Mine looks like the bracket and then a 1/4 inch " bushing" welded to the mounting hole. Were any of yours threaded or did you have to tap the hole. Really want the handle but unsure on unthreaded "nuts".

Just recently installed on my truck, it really helps me get into my rig and out.

Highly recommend!

I must have gotten a defective one, no matter how I installed it, once I pulled it up to align the holes, there is a gap at the bottom by the speaker grill. It's like they didn't make the piece long enough. After fooling with it for about an hour I gave up and put the original piece back on. Anyone have gap issues?

Did you ever find out if there is a passenger side trim panel WITHOUT the handle?

If there is, then it's a unicorn. My A-Pillars were fabbed using the passenger handle version. Removed the handle as part of the fab work.

No gap or alignment issues on mine. If you line it up or measure it against the original is it shorter.

What a great find! I ordered mine today for $45 on ebay.

At 5'8", my 2015 Z71 seat bottom definitely sits higher off the ground in stock form than my 2000 Z71 did, and it's a little harder to get into, so I find myself grabbing and pulling on the steering wheel a lot, which I don't want to do.

I bought this and I finally found a set of running boards I like the look of and ordered them too (the 4" Iboards).
