Strange, so mines some weird ½ breed? [attachment=44982[emoji14]ART_1427395273687_IMG_20150326_143827213_HDR.jpg]

Ya that's the Shale, I believe light gray and Shale are the only 2 colors they make the upper interior in. The part # for the Shale is 23285089.

The handle I ordered a few days ago on Shopchevyparts.com was delivered today and installed the assist in just a few minutes. Saw the white airbag on the high side of the A pillar. Probably should have cut the now useless projectile safety strap before installing it, but decided if I didn't like it down the road, I could always put the original blank back up. So far I like it a lot. I hope it doesn't rattle but I doubt it will. Of course if it does, or if I ever have to route some wires again I'll need to figure out what to use to pop off the bolt trim covers. I'm guessing a clean plastic putty knife will probably do it without damaging them. This really was a no brainer. Even a caveman could do it (me sometimes). Thanks for the great write up by Rewillia on page 14 of this thread.

i didnt want to cut mine off either so i ziptied it down and out of the way.

its tied in right under the lower handle mount bracket (i guess thats what ill call it.)

i spent all of 30 seconds trying to find out how to pop it out without breaking anything then gave up and grabbed the ziptie.

for those of you looking for the part numbers... i gave my dealership 23135699, the part matches, it went in no issues and came with bolts.

weird thing is the instructions that came with it say it is part number 2313598, the box label says 23285090, it has a post it on the box saying 23483726 and someone scribbled in pen on the shipping label sleeve the original requested part number of 23135699.

and i just noticed the bottom of the box says 23285090

i dont want to throw a monkey wrench into this thread because i really dont have a answer as to why mine has all these numbers on it, the pars guy said to make sure its the right one first and maybe there was a part # change but he placed the order for what i gave him.

I want to order it badly but handling is 30$!! From gm parts direct and shopchecy parts wants 22$ shipping and handling totaling to 58$ I see everyone is paying less than 50$ I guess I'll have to order it from the dealer [emoji53]

A dealer is more expensive! Last I heard they want $100 for the handles. I got mine on shopchevyparts.com for right at $50 shipped

the dealer has installed 3 of these on the drivers side and they all have been gapped on the top (the u shape) and the bottom by the speaker. From what I can tell from peoples pictures and no complaints there shouldn't be any gaps. Not sure what the problem can be with my new 15 sierra denali.

I even watched the tech install the 3rd one today for 10 mins in the parking lot. I will post pictures tomorrow. Is there some secret install trick that they are not doing?

Do you have pictures of the issue. I saw you posted this in a couple of threads. I ordered my 2015 Denali with it, which still requires the dealer to install it. I don't see any issues with mine, but maybe I am missing something.

Just have some gaps on the bottom and top, def doesn't fit as well as the passenger side from the factory. Looks better in the pictures but the gap on top is pretty bad and doesn't sit flush

You can fix this with some fiddling....I found this out by installing a couple for some friends. Some fit better then others.

1. Remove the rubber moulding from the frame, It tends to keep it from fitting. You will need a flat edge to push it back past the handle after its installed

2. The dash can sag on that side, if you have a piece of foam, there is an area on the lower left of the speaker grill where you can wedge it in and raise it about 1/8" that helps with the bottom fit.

3. Make sure the old safety line is not in the way as it pushed on the male tab that goes in the hole near it. Also there are little tabs along the edge, make sure they are not hitting something

4. If its really off you can pull out the metal insert in the trim piece and widen the whole a bit to enable the bottom bolt to mover upward. this keeps it from pulling the bottom up too much.

I have been able to get all them to fit as good as the passenger side, but it takes some patience.

Also would not be a bad idea to put some Loctite on the bolts so they wont loosen up when you have the fit correct and installed.

Since I'm so used to not having a driver side a-pillar handle I haven't caught myself using mine. If I leveled or put a minor lift on it then I know I'd use it, but I seem to still use the steering wheel while I get in. I added it anyways, I figure $50 isn't bad for a handle that I may need in the future. Especially since I'll probably still have the truck when I get to an old enough age to need one lol.

Got mine again (forgot to remove mine from my 14 when I traded to a 15) for $30 shipped on eBay! But like others have recently posted, the gap on the bottom is there... Can't see it while I'm driving tho so oh well!

Mine had a small gap at the bottom, but after playing with it and pushing it down further, it's gone, all I have is a tiny gap at the top on the windshield side which is almost impossible to see.
