Just had mine installed yesterday at my local GM dealer, as well as the bed lighting kit... They both look awesome....

And yes,, it does include all the hardware for the install.

I don't know bout you guys but I use it every single time I get in/out of my truck. Paired with bedsteps I can easily get up and "sit" in the seat and keep from wearing and tearing the outer edge of the seat. Before it was slide in/out the seat. :nonod: Should have been standard stuff but I'm glad it was at least available to order.

Yup, and you can do it yourself very easily. It is also sold as an accessory with instructions and bolts (corrected...said screws, meant bolts...brain fart)

Thanks for pointing me to shopchevyparts.com. I ordered one. $35 plus shipping is great. Can't wait. Wondered why factory left this out.

Got it and installed it! It is a very easy install.

Observation.... The trim has a brass insert to hold the trim on to the anchor point, probably to keep it from being cinched down too much and deformed, but I noticed that the washer on the bolt is not much larger, if at all. I am thinking in the event of the side curtain air bag deploying, it will push the trim off the insert and inflate.

Local Chevy dealer had it for mr in two days $47 and change. Fifteen minite install on a simulated smoke break.

Mine has an air bag behind it, hopefully I won't be the one to test it to see if it works but if someone has the mis fortune I would like to know if indeed it does work!

To clear it up these trucks have six airbags- one in the steering wheel, the passenger side dash, both front seats have side airbags and curtain airbags drop from the roof.

Installed mine today. Looks professional grade :) Really was so easy no video is needed. My black plastic tether did not remain attached to the old trim piece. I just cut off enough to expose the hole that the prong fits into. Thanks for all the tips on this. So glad to have a handle again.
