what is that light gray thing sitting on your driver side door?

It's a padded arm rest, they are awesome. This is the third truck I have had that one in. It just sits in the window channel, I always put a strip of double face tape on the back to make sure it doesn't fly out the window. Here's the link:

Well, shopchevyparts.com is backordered for 30 to 45 days. Anyone know someplace else that has them in stock?

By "them" I assume you mean the driver assist handle? I had the same problem, so I called my dealer parts guy and had it in two days.

I got mine from my local dealer in less than a week. $50 plus tax.

Mine will be here Wednesday from GMPartsDirect.com

Good news. Got a phone call from shopchevyparts.com and the CS rep said that the item is in stock now. Got an email a few hours later saying that it had shipped. Pretty stoked since I ordered the chrome exhaust tip as well with it.

The handle I ordered a few days ago on Shopchevyparts.com was delivered today and installed the assist in just a few minutes. Saw the white airbag on the high side of the A pillar. Probably should have cut the now useless projectile safety strap before installing it, but decided if I didn't like it down the road, I could always put the original blank back up. So far I like it a lot. I hope it doesn't rattle but I doubt it will. Of course if it does, or if I ever have to route some wires again I'll need to figure out what to use to pop off the bolt trim covers. I'm guessing a clean plastic putty knife will probably do it without damaging them. This really was a no brainer. Even a caveman could do it (me sometimes). Thanks for the great write up by Rewillia on page 14 of this thread.

I had to pop off the bolt covers on my handle and they came right off with no damage. I used a small flat head screwdriver.

Installed this yesterday. Couldn't live without it now.

Hey, I need one of those "Old Bugger" handles too! hahaha

Hey, who you calling an "Old Bugger"? I might resemble that remark! LOL

I'm pretty sure the "Young Buggers" would enjoy them too?

The best $35 accessory I ever bought! Just love that thing, and I think my seat bolster loves it too.
