Grab the top and pull down. Pretty straight forward. No special trick other than they seemed to have made interior panels on these trucks harder to remove than normal. Even trying to pull the fuse panels off was a pain.

I installed mine today. What a joke. Install is straight forward but the was a 1/4 gap at the bottom between the speaker grill. Also on the back side there is a huge gap between the dash and the Handle. Fits no where near like stock. I put the stock one in for now. Maybe I got a f upped one. Wouldn't surprise me. Anyone else had similar issues?

Hi, I just installed one on my 2015 silverado and it fit like a glove. No gaps on the top or bottom.

Same here, mine fits like the take-off piece did.

 

The ones with a fit problem, try cutting that pointed piece off which I have yet seen why that's on there. I was lazy and didn't cut mine off, I just kept forcing it on there until the holes lined up on the handle.

The ones I have done that didn't fit right were mainly at the bottom. Either the bottom is flared out a bit too much or the dash piece isn't centered just right. Whichever the case, the moulding presses on the speaker grille, causing the speaker grille to want to go under it, exposing a gap at the bottom. The fix for me has been a bit of heat from a heat gun to soften the plastic a bit, and remove a bit of the flare to remove the interference between the two pieces.

Funny how I never gave not having a drivers side grab handle much thought until I read this post last night and then today I noticed myself always grabbing the steering wheel when I get in. I think I'll have to order one now.

Plan on waiting at least a month. Ordered one 4/3/15, it came into the distro damaged and the reordered. It's still on order, I called and they said it's a backordered item with no ETA.

Same here. I was always grabbing the steering wheel when I got in. Should have been a standard thing with the vehicle but it is very useful.

Did you try ShopChevyParts. I ordered mine from there and got it in like 3 days.

Would anyone know if this same part will fit on a 2015 Chevy Tahoe. I have been trying to get a definitive answer for several weeks now and I am hoping that someone on here can help. We have not bought the vehicle yet and this is a deal breaker for us. The dealer has been no help and will not assist because they state that this is not an optional part for the vehicle. If anyone can help I would be very appreciative. Thank you.

It should have the same "A" Pillar I would think. There is one way to find out if the hardware is under the trim. Get the shop to pull out on the top of the interior "A" Pillar trim and see if the tabs/nuts are threaded to accept the handle bolts.

 

Did you ask this question on the 2015 Tahoe forum to see if someone there has already done this? I would try there first. Maybe someone has already removed the trim, or would remove the trim to check for you? Can't hurt to ask.

 

I use mine every time in and out of the truck. If not, I'm sure the side seat bolster would be shot already, or my steering wheel would be loose/wobbly.
