So I ordered the shale handle, but the tab in the center of mine where the air bag clip goes looks completely different. Anyone else have this issue? Ordered part number 23135700, but don't see that number on the handle anywhere so wanted to be sure i was sent the correct part.

Mine was the same way, do yourself a favor and just remove that clip while you are in there. I am assuming that you don't need the clips because in the event of an airbag deployment the clip kept the pillar in place so it didn't mess up your teeth. With the handle installed the bolts keep that from happening.

After a thinking on it a few minutes, I decided that the center plastic stud on the new pillar was useless, because with the bolts in place you obviously don't need it for stability or alignment. Didn't feel comfortable removing the airbag clip, so I trimmed the plastic stud down a bit and she fit like a glove. I echo the thoughts of many, so simple why is this not standard equipment?!?!

Wow! i never thought to look for this 'cause i figured if it existed it would come standard in every single truck!!

Every time I get in my Sierra and yank on the steering wheel I've wondered why the driver side didn't come with one.

Very happy to have found this thread

I want to order it badly but handling is 30$!! From gm parts direct and shopchecy parts wants 22$ shipping and handling totaling to 58$ I see everyone is paying less than 50$ I guess I'll have to order it from the dealer ?

the dealer has installed 3 of these on the drivers side and they all have been gapped on the top (the u shape) and the bottom by the speaker. From what I can tell from peoples pictures and no complaints there shouldn't be any gaps. Not sure what the problem can be with my new 15 sierra denali.

I even watched the tech install the 3rd one today for 10 mins in the parking lot. I will post pictures tomorrow. Is there some secret install trick that they are not doing?

I bought mine on ebay and it was not that bad.

I installed one and I guess since I'm not used to an A-pillar assist handle on the driver side I haven't caught myself using it. I will probably only use it when I clean the windshield. It's a must if you have a lifted truck or leveled if you're not all that tall (which I'm not, but it's not leveled). The only thing I was worried about was having visibility around the A-pillar but the handle itself is positioned right so it doesn't take away any visibility compared to the A-pillar piece without the handle.

I looked at the 2 HCs on the lot, 1 new and the other is someones and they both have the light gray A-pillars, the upper interior color is light grey.
