I'll go through and check them all. What one do you think would be the culprit? The one at the switch?

I wonder if a connector isn't seated correctly.

The issue you are having after you changed the harness has been reported before in this thread. From what I've read on this subject the best thing to do is use original harness, new switch, and wire the signals and puddle lights separate. Just my .02

It has? I combed through this thread and didnt see anyone else with this issue. I must've missed it. Well that's disheartening lol

Can someone tell me the difference between 23154702 and 23154705?

23154705 will not fit on the trucks. My wife's 15 Tahoe with power fold has that switch. It will not fit on the plug in these trucks. I found out the hard way. 23154702 is the switch you want. I got everything to work with my old harness. You just have to wire signals and puddle lights separately.

I will confirm what txsierra14 said about the 705 switch. There was someone on another thread insisting that is the switch that was needed, so I ordered it and ended up blowing a fuse. It is keyed slightly differently, but I thought maybe it was just tight and forced it in. Bad idea.

I now have the 702 on order and will have to wait to get everything working.

Where do you guys ordered the switch 23154702? Because every GM part site said is on back order and they told me I need the VIN from a truck who came with that switch. Someone has an extra switch?

I got a note today from the place I ordered my switch (cheapestgmparts.com) saying that there was limited quantity, so I needed to provide the VIN from the vehicle that needed it. I just sent the VIN for my LT. On the other parts sites, when I put in my truck, it says the part fits my truck, so I am hoping that will work.

When I ordered the previous switch, they didn't say a word.

Ordered this morning, and got this email late today.

The item you ordered is on backorder from GM with no expected release date. Your order has been cancelled. We apologize for the inconvenience.

Thank you

The part number must have changed or the item is on a long back order for you to get that message. I have had it done to me too. It's been awhile since I got mine, try another vendor (Cheapest GM Parts .com?)

GMPartsGiant say the part is discontinued.

GM Parts East, part not available.

I did order from GANLEY CHEVROLET OF AURORA LLC.

I will post any problems.

UPDATE

When I ordered the part I had to include a vin number, and I was promptly contacted this am and told that this part will not fit my LT. I replied with I still want to order the part...

I got my switch today from CheapestGMparts.com and everything works as expected. I know this thread is for the smaller power fold mirrors, but I am using the power fold tow mirrors. I was following this thread because I was having issues finding the correct switch for my '14 LT.

Thanks for the help.

So, just for confirmation, please confirm my assumptions of your success:

Your truck is a 2014 LT ?

You added power fold mirrors ?

You installed the power fold mirror switch GM part # 23154702 ?

and that is all you did to get your power fold mirrors to work?

If any other parts were needed include them if you would. Your response will be greatly appreciated... Some have been posting that their turn signals and puddle lights don't work, and those are not my main concern. Thank you in advance for your response.

  • Yes, it is 2014 LT
  • I added the power fold tow mirrors
  • Correct, GM part number 23154702 is the part that worked. I tried another switch that was mentioned and it did not work.

The power fold feature worked by simply installing the mirrors, plugging them into the existing harness and installing the new switch.

I didn't need any other parts. My mirrors now have the following features working:

  • Power fold
  • Power adjust
  • Heated mirror glass

The 2014 LT truck will require additional changes to make the other features work. I hope to work on those when the weather is warmer.

So since this was the towing mirrors you added, it's safe to say that the power fold regular mirrors would work to right?

    • Whoever greenlighted the work truck matte black front bumpers on every trim but the AT4X should be fired!  I was hoping that was an AI mistake, but just realized they were on every model of the 2027 Silverado too.     Some parts of the interior do look premium, but the Denali Ultimate dashboard looks like an afterthought.  At least they appear to have lost the microfiber the high end Silverado models showed, but the '27 High Country dash looks better than the Denali.
    • New member here. I am researching a read-first event-recorder concept for late-model GM V8 trucks. This is not a sales post. There is no product link, price, preorder, or mailing list. I am trying to determine whether the underlying problem is real before building anything.   Has your truck ever had a brief problem such as: - rough running or a momentary misfire - an oil-pressure warning or unusual pressure event - reduced power or a brief stall - a U-code or lost-communication problem - a symptom that disappeared before the dealer or independent shop could reproduce it   If so, I would appreciate the following details: - year, model, engine, and mileage - what happened and under what conditions - whether a DTC and useful freeze-frame data were stored - whether the shop was able to reproduce it - what the eventual confirmed repair was, if known - what additional information would have helped the diagnosis   The concept being evaluated is a removable leave-in recorder that continuously retains a rolling window from before and after an event. It would not tune, reflash, clear codes, or change the vehicle calibration.   I am also not claiming that it could predict lifter failure or see every internal ECM variable.   The real question is whether continuous event history would add enough useful evidence beyond freeze frame, GDS2, and existing scan tools — or whether it would simply be another unnecessary gadget.   For owners and technicians, which problem would make something like this genuinely useful: 1. intermittent misfire or AFM/DFM-related behavior 2. oil-pressure events 3. lost communication or electrical faults 4. none of the above Please be blunt. Negative feedback is just as useful as positive feedback.
    • No tears over the SLE and SLT trim levels disappearing but I kind of loathe the "Elevation" name. It's a truck--skip the elegance.   The slab-dashboard design is decidedly different. Almost has a Hummer flavor to it. "Professional Grade" seems to be leaning very white-collar, tech-driven these days moreso than blue-collar, functional design.   The Silverado would be my choice between the two new trucks. Pleased with the engine lineup in both. The GMC is a little "too much" for a truck, IMO, and the Denali borders on ridiculous - but I do know there are buyers for luxury trucks out there. It's just not my speed.

    • - I like the outside but not as much as the Chevrolet.  They ICE'd the EV styling and it works, but I think exterior goes to Chevy on this one.     - SLE and SLT dead = Not.  Surprising.  Fits into the rest of the GMC lineup like this which (aside from Pro) matches the rest of the family.  Elevation, AT4, Denali.     - Interior.  Sophisticated Malaise era.  Why do I say Malaise?  Drawn with a ruler.  Rectangles everywhere.  Looks very premium though.
