I figure my 02 will last me a long time. Sure it doesn't ride as nice as the newer ones but it is paid for and does what I need it to do. Maybe if I hit the Powerball then I can get what I want. Considering mine brand new for an LT which is pretty much loaded was $30k out the door. The prices have gone up quite a bit.

Buy used, problem solved. My 2006 has an option no 2014 does, rear vents. No pesky traction control.

AM/FM 6 CD, iPhone jack, dimming power fold mirrors... Plenty for me.

Just be happy that your not paying Canadian prices. We are just so used to the higher prices that we don't even worry about it any more. Plus we are paying $4.50 / gallon for gas.

Sold my dad's '07 Silverado LTZ ext. cab 4x4 V8 to my buddy who in turn traded it in a few months ago for $17,000 - 83,000 miles on the ODO, on a new '14 Denali.

Yeah they're expensive, but what other American made vehicles holds it value like that other than an HD truck or a vette/viper? None.

Accounting for inflation, all the gov't mandates on automakers to add safety items, and how many more features are packed on these trucks why would they stay the same price.

Compare a 2011 to a 2014 - they're not close in terms of build quality and features. Why would they be the same price, especially with inflation?

My 2009 decked out LTZ was a piece of junk (was a nice truck at the time) compared to my new 2014 truck...so we are sort of getting what we pay for. It didn't have 1/2 the features and only about 80% of the performance.

The 14's will be the same as that 09 too. Every model is made cheaper than the last, but the price is always more. I bought a new 09, and traded in an 05 thinking I was getting a better truck. Boy was I a fool. Glad I didn't fall for that again with a 14, and waste my money on that ridiculous price tag.

Is it just me, or does everyone here have a $50,000 plus truck. I have looked and most if not all the trucks here are up level trucks. GM has priced all us middle of the road guys out. I have a 2011 LT and to get a comparable truck, it is like $45,000 plus. Ten thousand dollars in 3 years holy crap. I refuse to pay $500 a month for a truck. So it looks like I have to buy another brand or buy used. It just stinks us poor guys can't join in the fun of these new trucks.

gm has priced you out? lol they should charge 30k for the denali so you can buy it

I had an 01 just like yours. To get one optioned like yours today would be a allstar with leather and v6 which wont be too much slower and if you wont mind the v6.

that truck will be right at $30k or less today! i dont think it's fair to compare to a ltz because it has a lot more bells and whistles.

to those saying you will go to another brand to get a cheaper price, i didnt notice ford or ram had anything cheaper, especially with leather.

btw my dad bought that 01 LT z71 extended cab new. what an awesome truck!

loving this new v6 leather allstar too. I don't really miss the 5.3L other than the gibson dual exhaust we had on it. These 2014s are soo quiet i would never think to put an exhaust so the v6 works anyway.

You mean you all didn't get a kilo of cocaine with your trucks to offset the cost?
