The new Ford redesign with the aluminum panels, is ugly, but the 2011 I have in the backyard I think looks pretty good. Ford had come up in the looks, as has Dodge. Dodge needs to get the payload up. All in all I dont think you ca go wrong with a 2014 Silverado/Sierra or F-150

This is the reason that GM is in panic mode right now..... They're really scared of what will happen when the '15 F150 is released. (to me it looks like a Tundra).

That could look a lot better with the body color grille. Don't think I've seen a pic of a one yet. I wonder if the whole amber strip will blink. That could look cool.

Yeah the Grille looks like a Tundra. I'm not a big fan of the yellow light surround. It might be cool if it only acted as a blinker, but to have them on all the time would look a little silly I think.

the 2009-2012 F150s looked good with the grille they started out with; the Trouble started when they started Overhyping the EGOBoost in the F150 in 2011; then in 2013, they slapped a smaller version of the UGLY Super Duty Grille on the front! the 2015 F150's Front End looks like Ford Raided Toyota's Scrap Parts Bin behind the San Antonio Truck plant! The Only Problems I see with the Silverado and Sierra are the Overinflated Prices ($33K for pretty much the same thing we've got in 2014 form!), the Mylink/Intellilink Infotainment System Designed for a Teenager, and the Ugly Steel Wheels!

I guess there will always be those who don't like the newest model in trucks, cars, technology, whatever. But I don't understand all the negative comments on new design of the '14 Silverado. Every time I look at my new '14, I am just amazed at what a good looking truck it is. In my opinion, it looks so much better than Dodge, Ford, Toyota, or even the 07-13 Silverados.

But..... I've always been a Chevy guy. I guess it's in my DNA.

Guess I can wait four more years

Looks like its almost official....

"A whole array" of

UPDATES ON A YEARLY BASIS .

Oh boy, here come some angry K2 owners.

The main quote of interest:

"We won't know for a few months what any of these updates will be, but the rumored changes for the Silverado and Sierra appear to cover all the bases, including appearance, capability and fuel economy. Rumors run to higher gear counts, stop-start technology and diesel engines before brand-new pickups come for the 2019 model year, those next-generation models supposedly to be engineered with a lot more aluminum"

The people (companies) who buy any truck that comes with steel wheels do not give half a crap if they are ugly. And the 2014's have basically nothing in common with the GMT900's... Even the motors are a new design. I don't understand people who are hesitant to buy because new features are introduced. Phones, fridges, cars, TVs, lawnmowers, practically any durable good you can buy will have more features than the one you bought before long.

Watch the updated appearance be ugly and the improvements be not very vast and the 2014s will be more popular. I don't get why they aren't selling. Vast improvements over the previous generation and light years ahead of my old 2006 Silverado. It doesn't feel like driving a truck anymore which is good.

I don't think its the truck, if anything its the marketing, very little to none Silverado commercials up here and the same stupid sierra commercial showing off the cargo lights for the past year. Ford markets the heck out of the f150 with commercials. There was no definite public announcement when the trucks showed up on lots and no commercials enticing people to go see them in person.

Interesting take.

I purposely purchased my new 2008 with steel rims.

And that truck had power windows/mirrors, cruise, XM, etc.

My new 2012 Colorado came with alloy rims and I took them off, put in storage, and purchased steel rims with hub caps.

Here in the north - the salt ruins any alloy/chrome rims. Visit any Chevrolet/GMC dealer and view the used such and all have rims/wheels that are tarnished/rusted. The alloy/chrome ones that is.

The alloy rims/wheels do not hold up in northern climates because of salt used in roads in winter.

My 2010 Colorado that came with chrome rims - replaced 2 years later under warranty - all 4 - because the chrome was pealing. And I wash my vehicles much more then the average person.

None of my vehicles with alloy wheels have gone bad in salt. Take care of your vehicle and they'll be fine.

True... There are ways to protect chrome wheels from salt corrosion. The best way I've found (other than swapping them for "beater" wheels in the winter), is to wash them twice a week and saturate them with WD-40 after each wash. Then clean 'em up really good in the spring. (Keep it off the brakes)

If all the car-washes are closed due to cold weather, you can use Optimum No-Rinse Car Wash in your garage.

EDIT... Sorry, just realized this is way off topic.

To the point of the thread ---> My opinion is that we won't see any major changes or face-lifts until 2019.

We'll agree to disagree.

Take a walk around any Chevrolet/GMC lot a view the used Chevrolet/GMC vehicles. Most new dealers used vehicles are 3 or less years old - and all up here have tarnished rims. The Chevrolet/GMC vehicles. Even the real expensive used ones.

I see what I see. I state what I see. And I have had chrome rims replaced under warranty for peeling chrome. Do a search of the Cadillac forums and other GM forums. Peeling chrome is a big issue.

I do take care of my rims. WD-40 can be a tad dangerous as this is a compound that can potentially damage the rubber on tires. But if you are careful as I assume one is then tires will not be an issue.

We'll politely agree to disagree and move on to subject at hand.

IMO I don't think any major changes will happen until around 2016/17. I can see different trim packages etc but a new body style I doubt it. They should make things like the ltz lights standard as well as the 8 inch my link, Door moulding, and drop the price 3-4k? Idk, maybe a different grille like the HD style? If they added an 8 speed alone, it would increase sales.. We shall see... I actually really like the way they look now.
