That is good news. Still worrisome when an old Ford design outsells the new Chev/GMC combined.

Still a lot of hatred out there of GM for needing a bailout, and now the safety recall fiasco. This has hurt GM. They have some very fine products out there, but I hear of many folks who turn their nose up when suggested they go test drive a GM product and cite the bailout and now the recall stuff. Hopefully GM can pull their head out of their you know what and demonstrate some good open honesty and transparancy and humble themselves and focus on the customer and providing service and products that are superior to it's competitors. Its going to be a long road.

Also I see they failed to mention the new 2014 Impala. That has to be a big failure for them right now. It's a great car, and tops in its segment, but consumers continue to go with its competitors.

The old one was drug along WAY too long, hurt the name. The platform was 12 years old when it died, and the interior layout and style stayed the same the entire time.

The old impala is still alive. It was a nice car. Rode fantastic and that 3.6 has amazing power. The tooling is paid off on those so every impala "classic" they crank out for fleet use is pure profit

My parents had a 2001(?) With the 3.4 And drove it to 230K I think. They got it a few years old in 04 I think, with 120k miles(a highway salesman was the original owner supposedly) and an airbag light. Never fixed the airbag.

I can't believe people are actually buying the 2014's. There are people on this board who are happy to pay 45-60K for a GAS HALF TON! That is just pure insanity!

 

A friend of mine just picked up a 2010 Ford Lariat crew cab, loaded up with nav and everything for $30,000, with only 60,000 miles on it. That is a good deal IMO. I would buy that used Super Duty over a new gas half ton for 50K any day of the week and take my chances with the PowerJoke engine.

 

Half ton prices are getting insane. The line is seriously blurred between a well equipped half ton and a 3/4 ton.

I completely agree! I believe in the rule that says each too their own but I don't understand why anyone would pay 5+ thousand dollars more for a 14 than they would have paid for a 13. GM will move more product when they drop the prices. I'll drive my 2012 for as long as it takes...

Really, that's a good deal? I paid 31k OTD for 14 GMC Texas package, loaded pretty good. Those deals are real common now. Im seeing regular GMC SLEs in ads for 27K. Cant believe its that much more there.

You are comparing a 4 yr old vehile to a brand new vehicle. And right now you could get a new gm 1500 for close to the price you are saying for a used ford.

As for the used super duty. You could get a new 14 denali 3500 for that price.

I bought a 15 denali 3500 drw duramax and while decided on what I was getting priced the ford and dodge. Both the Ram 3500 and F350 were quite a bit more than my new denali. With the ford over 10k more.

I had a 2004 for 5 yrs. I actually sold it for only $500 less than what I paid for it that worked out well

BUT buying a 2010 F150 nets you either a 4.6 or 5.4, & aside from needing a small boat anchor, would not be interested.

I couldn't agree more. This recall debacle is really hurting GM right now. I'm a GM loyalist. Comes from my roots; dad, grandpa on both sides, etc. But you're right, they need to do something big to turn this around and restore customer confidence and trust.

 

I've had GM-haters jump me saying asking me why I bought a Silverado.

My response has been "Best truck on the market!"

Their response "But they took the bail-out!"

 

Really? So what!!! Get over it!

 

Positive note: So glad to see truck sales up! (Vette sales up was a no-brainer .... best looking Vette ever and that thing is a beast!)
