How do you like the ride with this setup? Is it noticeably softer? Does the steering feel less responsive with the larger sidewall tire?

Love the setup, I think the 17" wheels on 33" tires look perfect on these trucks

This does look really good. I'll have to go back and check these specs.

Ride is much softer and my mileage went back up a little. Definitely not as responsive with the bigger side wall but it is a 4wd truck. I'll take the ride and mileage gains over being able to take a corner a little faster.

Naked is the way to go if you're color matched :)

I need to get around to doing mine too. Just looks so much better. You really get to appreciate the body lines that much more. Man I've seen your truck before and I love the body and wheel colors. But I just noticed that those wheels are the Sierra SLE wheels but in a gloss black/gunmetal finish. They look really really good. How did you go about buying them or painting them?

I couldn't agree more. Debadging does give the body more of a chance to show off its lines and curves. Your eyes aren't drawn to the lettering.

Good catch on the wheels :). They are indeed Sierra SLE wheels that have been PVD'd Black Chrome. A local GMC dealership had a few sets sent out to be coated, and this was a spare set they had left over. So I bought it and sold me OE wheels on craiglist.

They say the PVD finish is supposed to be super durable and can handle all climates without any issues. However, I am not sure how much I believe on that because Discount Tire put quite a few surface scratches on a couple of the spokes on each wheel, when mounting the Coopers. DT said that Cooper has a harder and more pointy bead line, thus scratching the finish as they stretched them onto the wheel. I don't know how much to believe on that statement....but it is what it is. You can't really see the scratches in teh finish unless you are up close and really looking for it. I'll add a close up picture of the worst spoke.

However, they made things right and paid for my tires, since you can't touch up PVD'd black chrome without redoing the whole wheel. And I didn't want to be wheel less for a couple weeks while they sent them off to be refinished. I figure I'll get sick of these some day, sell them and go back to a smaller wheel and fluffy tire.

You guys that switched to aftermarket TPMS, I'm switching to some new rims and tires very soon and curious on what to expect when I switch to new sensors. Should the truck recognize them? Do I need to get anything reset? If so, can I do it myself or need to get it done by the dealer?

Thanks in advance

You need a reset tool which you have to use even after rotating the tires. I plan on buying one after the 24,000 mile maintenance warranty runs out. The tire place might have one but if not just go by a dealer and maybe they won't charge just for a TPMS reset. Only takes a couple minutes.
