No SD in 2016 LT Crew Cab with bench seat.

The SD slots are in 2015 HD's w/bench & fold down console, along with 2-USB's, & aux cable plug in socket. Can't see why GM would change that in the '16's...

For those of you who have replaced the front and/or rear speakers in your truck, did you find a gm speaker harness for the connections, or did you have to cut the wires and either splice or solder the new speaker wires? I'm contemplating adding aftermarket speakers, but I don't see any metra or other companies making harnesses for newer gm trucks, and I'd rather not have to solder speaker wires in case I put the old speakers back in if I decide to get a new truck within a few years.

Any info. on speaker harnesses (model/part number, etc,) would be appreciated. Thanks.

This is what I used based on Alexantics' recommendations.

Chevy Silverado Truck 2014-2015 Factory Speaker Replacement Connector Harness

I had an issue with fitment at first, but with a little wiggling, was able to force the connector in. I have a 2016, so not sure if the mate end was designed slightly different. Installed the Kicker 6x9 with a speaker adapter as well.

You can see the guide notch on each rounded corner. That's what I fought trying to get it to fit. It ultimately mated.

These are the front speaker adapters I also went with.

Here are some photos of the rear speakers installed with the speaker adapter ring and wire harness. No splicing needed.

This completes the Kicker upgrade (with the exception of dash speakers). Sounds Great!

There are tabs on the ring that need to be removed and were easily done with a pair of pliers. They are etched for easy removal.

So in your opinion changing the speakers is worthwhile? Did you lose any volume(sometimes you do when changing to 4 ohm speaker) and did you disconnect the dash speakers. I have heard the dash speakers don't blend well when changing the door speakers

I am by no means an audiophile. The front and rear speakers do bring out the mids and highs in my opinion. Installation was easy, & plug and play. Sounds is louder all the way around and hits. I LOVE bass and this was a nice plug and play add on. I'm sure a custom system would have been louder and cheaper, but wanted a system that was plug and play, and doesn't void warranty.

I agree, I love the upgrade of the both front and rear speakers. No volume loss at all, I have no db level proof but to me it actually is louder and clearer. I just picked up the factory Bose dash speakers and will try adding those with the kicker speakers to see how it sounds. Pgamboa and I both had non Bose stereos and added the complete kicker Vss sub and amp upgrade. I do not recommend upgrading the door speakers with out the additional amp. I do not think the factory head unit would provide enough power.

I already have they kicker sounds take full system... just wanted a little more volume and clarity if upgrading the speakers helps I will pull the trigger. Just wanted to know if replacing the stocks was worth it .

I dropped son off to church today. One the way, all windows rolled down, sound turned all the way up, it is loud and really happy with the clarity on the mids/highs with the new front/rear speakers.
