What color was your GXP?

Red Jewel Tintcoat I think it was called, Not the fire red but the other red they offered. It was an Auto with the sunroof. I did light mods to it and suspension stuff. Had it putting down 380rwhp when we sold it to get the C6. I actually made money off of the car when I sold it. Hind sight now I should have kept it, but no biggie. Wife and I are talking about once we build the next house in the next year or so and pay her MKX off then we will look into a new C7 at that point for another play car.

I had a White Hot with the 6 speed manual... car was a blast to drive! I traded it with 8k miles the dealer thought I was pulling a fast one. I made money on mine too... I would have tried to sell it outright but it was booking at $25 -28K and finding someone with that kind of cash for a 2009 used car would be tough... they said it was going to auction, bummed me out. Definitely having sellers remorse and will probably kick myself int he ass in a few years for not keeping it... I just didn't have room. Having both my TBSS and the G8 out of warranty made the decision all the more necessary.

I think a Vette is in my future as well!

Have you seen that new Dodge Challenger SRT Hellcat? Not a mopar fan but 700hp!

yeah butt it will be a over weight tank and I think the Base C7 will give it a run for the money. I really would like to entertain a C7 Z06, but word is production is only going to be 2000 units or less next year, all of the productions units will be sold and dealers are already taking deposits for $10k+ market adjustments.

Makes me wonder what a nice 2013 Z06 could be had for, but the wife refuses to own another Vette that she cant drive and she is hell on a M6 car and refuses to learn how to drive one.

I hear grinding gears as I read your post... :rollin:

I've actually contemplated an older (vintage) vette, maybe even a project car. I really like the C2, my dad had one. The C3 was dog poop but as a project you could get a "mako" to move like a cheetah!

I sold my 2012 centennial edition Z06 I put 17k miles on it in 1.5 years, before that my dd was a 2008 z06

For me a total of 47k miles in 4.5 years I'm pretty much over them now. A c7 I would consider but gm runs cars for way too long before getting a redesign and having owned 2 of the c6 corvettes, frankly I can say they really don't have a lot to offer in the way of refinement.

They are fast, look awesome, turn heads and fairly comfortable. But the aren't practical, quiet, and don't have many features in the c6 the factory nav and stereo both suck like no other.

And if I were to buy a c7 I would only consider it if I could get one below sticker

I've owned lots of cars and trucks in the four decades I've driven . I always need a truck for me, but manage to convince the wife drive some pretty cool rides. Every time we consider a vette, we come home with Z28, or a mustang Impala ss. I want one but just can't make the leap.

Nice! I came out really sweet in my pockets on the G8 as well. It was definitely a great investment and I saw that after just a couple years of owning it. That's when I really slowed down on driving it and garaged it mainly. My ex hated that car and never understood why I didn't drive it much. It's just a car she kept saying! :M16: bitch!

What would have been hard is to find a GXP in the $20's! You could have sold it in the $30's! I sold my 09 GT with a few basic mods and wheels with $40,100 miles for $25k!. I did an in/out towards my truck so I came out mega sweet! Money in my pocket, trade in, big down payment, and I bought the truck for what I was hoping to buy it for. I was getting pestered to sell it so I finally broke down and decided it was time and to get back into a truck! Glad I did as I might not have had all the above go down so perfectly.

I had an 94 impala bought the second one in our area, wife drove for 18 months as her DD. We read they were going to quit the rear drive platform so we put it up and bought a clean used 94 Z28. After a few years we ran out room and son going to college, I figured the old impala not really going to be worth much. I had a son it law that work for a Chevy dealer told him to see what kind of trade I could get for a 2002 V6 Camaro. I paid TTL for the Camaro that was it. Then my son decides college not for him so I made him give me the Camaro back sold it to my oldest daughter. He ends up with the Z28 that he paid me for, so I came out way a head on that.

I love doin that. These DC 6.2s are def really quick. I've hung with a X6 that was a couple years old and the guy was surprised up to our stock limiter to say the least. An intake and a BB tune are coming soon.

I came from a '13 SS camaro 1LE and I don't regret it abit.

Managed to burn some rubber off with my ~7000 lb camper attached in a walmart parking lot in front of about 30 friends of mine. Needless to say they were impressed.

Got my Airaid intake today... waiting on my catch can and will install. Black Bear tuner sitting in the back seat... after intake is on I will start logging and expect to be amazed right after the fourth! I had the 6.2L in my G8 but it feels so much more powerful on this truck!

I currently have a 2015 C7 Z51. My 2015 SLT 6.2 with the Max trailer package will arrive in March. The 6.2 is impressive in the Vett. Curious how it will be in the truck since I have not had a chance to test drive one.

I would love to drive a C7! Can only imagine 40 more horses and 2000lbs less! :driving:

    • Based on what I can tell, yes.   As for updating it, its a mixed bag.  Updates do fix a lot of issues, but occasionally can create some oddities.  They do more good than harm though overall.     Here's what the most current one does and a  V171 Improvements Important: Improvements will vary by model, build configuration, system, and sales region. Not all vehicles have all features. OnStar and Wi-Fi may not work after remote start CarPlay may not automatically reconnect Part of the Driver Attention messaging screen may be in English even though the language is set to something else XM may not work After a dead 12V the radio may set to Arabic at each startup Bluetooth contacts might not be able to sync with the vehicle During an OTA the 12V battery may drain Customer might see a screen telling them to return to the dealer After changing the Wi-Fi SSID or password a device may not disconnect If a device is connected on the 2.4Ghz band, nothing will connect to the 5Ghz one, which could show as slow Wi-Fi speeds Customers might have noticed Wi-Fi dropping in certain areas and reconnecting later Customer might see the top of the screen blinking during Android Auto Android Auto may not connect CarPlay audio might momentarily cut out The "Add Phone" button may be grayed out The radio may not start up   V167 Most Notable Improvements:   Outside Air Temperature is incorrect. -You may see a popup message for Engine Shift. • Looking for help troubleshooting a metallic like front end rattle. Figured I’d see if anyone had thoughts before I schedule an appointment with the dealer.   The rattle is fairly loud and occurs primarily when the front driver side wheel hits a bump, even fairly minor road seams. Sometimes does it when the passenger hits a bump but I don’t believe when the rear hits. Rattle still occurs when foot is pressing brake peddle so I think that rules out the caliper rattle I’ve read about. I’ve also checked the running boards and they are tight.   Most noticeable at slow speeds.    Any insight is appreciated.
    • We try to make cruise the coast. It’s where our favorite casino is. I only want to spectate. Never took a car. Always had one to take. I belonged to a club once. Even when I used to drag raced. It was during test and tune. Probably because I’m not a night owl, party person.
    • We had a pretty big cars and coffee in Indy this past weekend.  Pretty much anything and everything was there.
    • Good looking Olds, and TRX!   I haven't been into car shows either. I'm probably not a convert but I did push myself this year to attend a few select events to challenge some assumptions and try to experience car-based social clubs in a different way. I joined up with the local Hagerty group for some cars/coffee events, group drives. A month ago I showed my '94 Camaro I rescued last fall at Radwood. Had a good time, but, there was some sitting around with the car and that's the part of shows I don't enjoy as much. I prefer to be a spectator, walk the show, grab a burger, go home.   Radwood was the only era-limited event, but where it had strict model year limitations, it made it up in variety. Having Jason Camissa there was also a hoot.   Where I see old 50's car shows, doo-wop and winga dinga music stuff fading out, same with "only" vintage muscle clubs, it seems to be the activity-based clubs/events which are gaining strong popularity. Places where all cars and interests come together.
