What did you do to your "other" car (aka musclecar) today

I've refused to own any car that isn't rear wheel drive for pretty much my whole life. Everything FWD that I've owned in the past either broke down constantly, and/or was a royal PITA to work on.

I’m in this boat. Can’t stand front wheel drive. Or even front drive based AWD. And they absolutely are a PITA to work on. Personally I still miss the panther platform vehicles. I had a 2008 Lincoln town car that I loved. Should’ve kept it but for all the crap I got about driving it.Traded it in for the wife’s car and bought a 1/2 ton truck instead.

You can get an impact wrench on some of those bolts if you needed to for some reason.

No impairment for the A.C. compressor or starter.  I don't think I have seen any American car made after the 70s with that much room, even the trucks I have owned, AND it's a Japanese CUV! And a drain bolt on the pans for the transmission.

 

 

Even on my Honda I think I can get a wrench on every O2 sensor without tricks or re/moving something in the way.

Winters coming... finally put the Camaro up on jack stands and took off the factory rims to sand and repaint. From day one you could almost see through a lot of the paint on the rims.

About 7 years ago I did a fresh up on the rims, but for some reason the paint has started lifting and cracking in the corners of the spokes.

I'll get these all sanded, crank the heat up to 70 in the garage and then prime & paint them -I don't want to do too good a job, because the Z has all original paint and if these look too good -they won't match LOL

Looks pretty well designed! That means I can't afford it. 

 

The FWD cars in my day were total garbage. Only one that was halfway decent was the V8 El Dorado.

Always makes for a fun ride on the motorcycle too.  

 

Doing anything in the cold sucks. 22° here and dropping by the minute.

 

The bike is parked until next year. Tonight will be the last night for the Marquis too - 15w-40 Rotella doesn't play well under 40°. Salt will be dumped soon.

That 16  1SS Convertible is down to 29k. It was over 32 when I first saw it. That "registered as rental" mark on its carfax is killing it. in comparison, they have a used 17 2SS that wasn't a rental for 40k.

I let it sit for a couple of weeks a time. Took it out today, seeing it hit 50F. Maybe the last run until april.

worth nothing, not sure why I keep it sometimes.

Warming it up only reminds me how old I am. 1 barrel carbs are gone, like the mechanical clutch.

..and I thought this car was ahead of its time. I started driving in 1987.

 

I appreciate my truck even more.

I'd  hold onto it ...  it owes you nothing, at will continue to be usable long after our trucks are in the scrapyard.

 

There's a reason I own 32, and a 25 year old cars. Neither are carbureted, but each have THE most robust FI systems ever built (not to mention the indestructible drivelines - there's a benefit to being down on power). The 32 year old Grand Marquis is still running it's OE fuel pump at 249k miles plus. Would've been running it's OE injectors if I didn't break one during removal. I sold them on eBay - a guy out in CA is running six of them in his '32 street rod now, and is very happy. They all tested within spec, with only one of the eight 3% out of spec. Try that on modern injectors after 29 years and 222k miles.

That is some serious HP right there.  I'm trying to organize my finances and just don't drive the camaro enough to justify keeping it.  Would really like to see it go to a good home.  For now it will just sit in the garage.  

Tell me about it, have a 10 2ss/rs with 10k mileage. I stare at it more than i drive it lol
