I should have driven my 2500 Denali at night before purchasing

Crappy headlights or a good reason to get some sweet auxiliary lights set up? It's all about perspective lol! Tell the wife the lights are for your safety and she can't say no!

I installed the FX-R projectors and a 35 watt HID kit. After a little adjustments, I'm not blinding oncoming traffic.

Although my headlight from the factory are adequate; night driving will benefit from a pair of Rigid Dually D2 aux lights. As provided from GM, the lighting is "light years" ahead of what we had only 15 years ago!

Have you tried adjusting them? Pretty sure they are set not to shine in people's eyes while the truck is loaded. After leveling mine are a lot better since they aren't pointed at the ground 15' in front of the truck anymore.

I adjusted my GMC's head lights and what a difference. I brought the passenger side up A LOT and the driver side a little to try and avoid blinding on coming traffic.

I bought the 2500 HD yesterday because it had projector lights, the F250 lights suck. Driving it last night they were better than the Ford lights but not as good as my Harley LED's, the Harley lights are unbelievable. Now I am wondering if there is a simple bulb upgrade?

If your 15 Denali was built before 12/xx/14, there is a TSB for headlight bulb replacement and bcm update to increase voltage output. I had this done on mine and made a world of difference. I also readjusted angle up a bit and I am happy with the lights.

If your truck hasn't had the update I suggest you check with your dealer. There is thread in this forum discussing the TSB.

Guess it is all in the eyes of the beholder. My 2015 2500HD Silverado, the lights are just fine. I live rural and have to dodge deer all the time and I am not worried about seeing them. Mine is one of the pre-mid year models. I haven't been motivated to change the lights at all. But each person is different.

Had 2014 gmc slt traded for 2015 Silverado ltz. Silverado headlights far and above better than GMC. Just being able to adjust low and high beam separately is a real plus. Did not buy GMC just for this reason

I find it interesting that in the US most cars and trucks either took a long time to get good lighting or still don't even though over there more people live in rural areas with bad lighting then the European vehicle owners in Europe which had better lighting earlier on.

The DOT required shitty sealed beams until like 1984. That put a big damper on development. Still today they require a lot of light be wasted, directed up to illuminate signs. E-Code (Euro spec) lights don't do that.

Oh ok, I didn't know that, thanks for the info. But it is a waste.

Your Silverado has completely different headlights than the Sierra.

My 14 Denali 1500 was awful. My 15 with the updated BCM and bulbs is still not great, but a very noticeable improvement.

I bought a 2015i expecting poor performance. They are every bit the equal to my 14 Silverado.

There are many things I love about my new 2015 GMC Denali 2500HD but the headlights are not one of them. I mistakenly thought that because my mid $60k truck was about the same price as my neighbors mid $60k Yukon, both being Denalis and his with HID projectors, that my truck would have the same lights. WRONG! I can't believe that vehicles driven on dirt roads in poorly lit areas get out of date technology when vehicles rarely driven outside well lit urban areas get them. There are so many other things given careful thought in this truck but the headlights and the ugly tow mirrors look like parts of the project that got behind schedule. The headlights in my $65,000 truck are awful and a safety issue in my opinion. So I guess my truck is sort of a Denali if you compare it to the Yukon and Yukon XL Denalis.

Another perfect example of another person not knowing what they bought. There should have been a sticker on your truck window at the dealership. They usually have the price and all standard equipment along with installed options. If you looked at the window sticker, you would have known what equipment your truck has.
