Hard to believe. I guess he was battling severe depression. RIP

Seemed like a nice guy. RIP. I didn't care for his extreme left politics like so many other Hollyweirdos.

Depression is very miss understood, a normal person can't imagine the pain these people feel. I only know because I have a grown daughter who attempted at the age of 36, we didn't have a clue. Very happy family no obvious systems. When she got help, she told us she always was depressed but at that instant it was to much. It turns out in most cases it's a chemical imbalance. In her case she has blackouts due to lupus and too many concussions, like in pro sports. In all cases it's treatable with meds and support groups. Get help if you get sever depression, you'll be gone but the people you leave behind will never get over it. I'm lucky I got another chance, my daughter told me there was nothing I could have done to prevent it. I would have never know that and would have blame myself, and so would have the rest of the family and friends

Sad situation... He was a heavy abuser of cocaine and alcohol, got clean, then relapsed again in 2006. Apparently he was battling it ever since. Severe depression coupled with addiction most likely ate him up inside. All that aside, he touched so many lives with his movies, comedy, and compassion. Horrible that all these great comedians wear a mask of happiness while they are severely tortured inside.

Sad to see this happen now a days. He was a funny person/actor etc. Prior to his last TV show I thought he filed for bankruptcy. Show was cancelled. RIP. He is going to be missed.
