2018 SLT, 2" RC level up front, 20x9 +1 Mavericks, 295/55 Ridge Graps, tubular step bars....debating on Denali grille (I'm not a chrome hater like some...)

She is put away for the winter now. Got to love Ontario road salt (magnesium chloride), it will make the underside of the K2's with the frame wax look 10 years old after 1 winter.

I like your build, do you have more pictures. I would like to see your blacked out Denali grill. Looks good.

Thanks. I do have more pics, but will have to post them later. If you're thinking about a blacked out grill, DO NOT get the $300 one that's all over ebay and amazon. I tried that first and it is cheaply made thin plastic, will not hold up over time. I returned it and found a shop that sand blasted a chrome denali grill to get it to bare plastic, primed it, and painted it to match my black GM paint. Unfortunately, it has been chipping from all my highway driving so I need to see if they'll redo the paint job. They said they applied 3 coats of clear coat, but it has not held up well. If you have someone paint a grill for you, make sure you are comfortable with their return/rework policy. I think I may be in a fight with them and will be looking into other options...

Also, if you're thinking about painting over any chrome save yourself time and money by not doing it. I made that mistake on a previous vehicle and the paint started peeling/chipping in very little time. Paint does not adhere well to chrome, even if you rough up the chrome. You want to paint over bare plastic and use a good primer if you want it to last. If you're looking for a quick, temporary solution Plasti-dip is the way to go. You can see how you like the look of it, and it peels off if you're not happy. It's also cheap so you can apply it later if you get peeling, scratches, etc.

Great, thanks for the input. I picked up a SLT grill from someone that put a Denali grill on. I am thinking of getting the chrome surround wrapped and just go with that. (Like @Denali_King ) Painting inside the surround is a bigger commitment.

Painting the inner would be a pita no question. If I were to do the inner I would have it blasted just enough to ruff up the chrome for good adhesion, then run a red scotch brite over everthing, and go directly to spraying.  Multistage wet on wet process.  Etch prime, black sealer, color, and then clear with flex additive to help with rock chips.

Awesome, a wrap is a great mid-range economy option (not as cheap as plasti-dip or as expensive as stripping/paint). I've had good luck with wraps in past vehicles, the shop I used had a 7 year warranty on the wrap. Could return for any reason and they would fix or replace it. Hope it turns out how you want it to.

Looks really good! It’s amazing how just a few mods like leveling and debadging makes a ton of difference. Looks like a whole different truck.

Swapped my black Denali grille for a black All-Terrain grille. Really happy with the look, I'm usually not a fan of chrome but the dark chrome on the AT grille really ties in the headlights.

I throw enough paint business at the dealer near me that they are redoing my Denali grille. It'll get completely stripped and recoated in black and clear coat. Let me know if anyone is interested in buying it off me. I'm sticking with the AT grille so the Denali grille will be in brand new condition!

PM sent. Looks great. I am interested in your Denali grill. I have been going back and forth between doing a black out Denali or the standard grill. I purchased an SLT grill and was going to wrap the chrome surround. But lately have been looking to do a blacked out Denali. Thanks for the pictures.
