Severado Posted January 30, 2017 Posted January 30, 2017 Thank you sir! We appreciate the business. I have a question about coil springs with the 5100s. What if I didn't want to use the factory coil spring? Can you recommend an alternative? Maybe Eibach and what *** lbs/in and spring rate. Thanks 1
Threerun Posted January 30, 2017 Posted January 30, 2017 Just had my 5100's installed ... LOOKS GREAT AND RIDES AWESOME ! Its a tad stiffer , I expected that .... no body roll , not much of a nose dive when you hit the brakes , off and on ramps like its on rails ..... I really like these shocks , transforms the ride totally . Service manager at the Local Chevy Dealership loved them after being a bit of a skeptic . " Not many would change a shock on a NEW car " My ride , 2016 Z-71 I just added 5100's to my truck. I set them on the third setting. I have a ARE cap on the back, and with the front set at 3 I wound up with the front of the truck 1" lower than the back which is what I was hoping for. They ride fairly well, but not as nice as the 6112 and spring combo I had on my 2016 Tacoma. Looking forward to the 6112's for the Silverado's.. 3
spilner Posted February 4, 2017 Posted February 4, 2017 Update on the GM 6112s! They will have two GM 6112 models, 09-13 & 14+. The 09-13 GM 6112 ETA is end of March or early April. The 14-15 is even farther. It's probably a little too early to give out part#'s, but you'll be the first to know once they're released! I'm sorry but was that a typo in the years? Is it really from 2009-2013 trucks only? I assume its a typo as the 2007 and 2008 suspension is the exact same... Been waiting for this for a while. Can't wait to ditch that 2" RC Leveling block and get some cognito upper arms
MRTMotorsports Posted February 14, 2017 Posted February 14, 2017 Yes, a typo. I copied directly from Bilsteins email and I think he was thinking F150 model years. It will be for the 07-13 and the 14+ trucks.
tanner709 Posted February 15, 2017 Posted February 15, 2017 Great info in here everyone. I've ordered the 5100s because I can't wait on the uncertainty of 6112 releasing anytime soon. My plan is to couple the 5100s with a 0.5" front spacer and rear 2.25" block. Rough country confirmed they sell these items (basically the 2.5" level without the 2" spacer) but you have to contact them via phone and request; - part # 1306 (0.5" top hat spacer) and - part # 6532 (rear 2.25" block and u-bolt assembly) Does anyone have a similar setup and could you offer any advice, tips, anything at all. I'd like to get as much info as I can before I pull the trigger. Would you consider another route, what's do you like/dislike about it? What settings are your bilsteins at? How much overall lift did you get and with what tire size. Thanks 1
rick sherman Posted February 18, 2017 Posted February 18, 2017 Yes, they should work just fine on the 2017! Has someone actually verified that 5100s will fit a 2017? I called Bilstein and they say it will be mid year before they have info on 2017s.
Jr3volution Posted February 19, 2017 Posted February 19, 2017 I just got the 5100 installed with roughcountry 2.5 front and 2 rear. All I got to say is that my ride is smooth as butter. Way better than stock! And that's with 20x10 -12 w/305 55 20 1
aaronarf Posted February 19, 2017 Posted February 19, 2017 I just ordered some 5100s last night from MRT. Can't wait any longer for 6112s and decided I really didn't need Kings! Looking forward to a better ride. Sent from my SM-G930V using Tapatalk 1
SlemmerSierra15 Posted February 20, 2017 Posted February 20, 2017 Did you find the ride height increased or stayed the same and only affected the ride comfort? I also have a 2.5 level but looking to add an inch or two to get to a -12 offset. I just got the 5100 installed with roughcountry 2.5 front and 2 rear. All I got to say is that my ride is smooth as butter. Way better than stock! And that's with 20x10 -12 w/305 55 20

I have it on the stock hight and wish I had left the .5 spacer out and raise the shock to the next level in which would give me a 2.75 front lift. My tires are rubbing the inner plastic fender. I may need to do some trimming this week Sent from my SM-G935P using Tapatalk
