wheel well liners

Anyone remove the felt liners from the wheel wells? I don't like them,all they seem to do is hold in dirt and moisture. I guess they are for sound deadening. Just want to know what is involved in removing them and pros and cons of doing so.

Well if you remove the fronts. You will send all that crap into your engine bay. Not a good idea.

I installed them in the rear of my SLE! I love them! One of the best thing GM has come up with in my books. Have had no issues with washing them.

They seem to be trapping and holding the slush and snow on mine, not a fan, when u can get to them the do seem to rinse off pretty good, but that doesn't do any good when there trapping all the ice/slush/snow

The material is plastic or composite. I assume it's inert to salt and moisture, they are not "carpet" like their appearance suggests.

I like them better than the plasic before. They clean up well with a rinse from the pressure washer.

Pros- they encase the wheel-wells and compliment the overall truck styling and are functional adding chassis protection,

Cons- none IMO since you asked..

 

It's your truck so do with it what you want.

They insulate the cab from road noise better too....a pressure washer alleviates the snow, dirt and ice buildup. Cant see any benefit of removing them unless you want to be back here complaining of loud road noise?

my SLE came with front and rear liners. ive been thinking of taking them out this summer and spraying some sot of rubber rocker guard, bed liner or just plastidip them so tey dont hold dirt and snow next season.

I like them much better than the hard plastic liners. The plastic liners always look dirty unless you get under there and scrub them with a brush. (which I ain't gonna do!)

 

These new textured liners just rinse off at the carwash and always look clean.

You can get plastic liners for the rear but I can't find them for the front.
