I have an 09 Sierra 1500 with a LU3, 4th Gen 4.3L v6. I eventually want to turbo or supercharge my truck, but I realize before I put any wrench time in that I will need an ECU calibrator (tuner) because I drive my truck daily and don't exactly have the money to throw in all the parts I want and take it to the local dyno tuning shop. What would be the cheapest tuner that would support a wideband exhaust analyzer, boost pressure sensor, ect? I plan to start with a bigger cam and upgraded valvesprings.

Talk to Black Bear Performance. They can point you to the right direction and probably even help you!

Is ecu tuning difficult? So far my only engine building experience is a 350 sbc, i rebuilt the bottom end with a .020 over cower stroker kit, comp cams valve train kit and a holley 850 carb, and I never took it to a dyno. The only hint at how much power it made was the fact that it turned a stock turbo 350 trans to shrapnel the first time I really got on it.

I hear lots of really good things about black bear on the forums. I have always used pcmforless.com but with them you need to send your computer out to them.

Sorry but why spend money on a NA V6? You're spending money to catch up to a V8 that has a lot more potential in the first place IMO. Did you already consider the gearing and tranny aspects?
