I miss my 07 with the 4spd.! Just saw it drive by the other day. I get the gears....but I hate the decision making all day. I drive a lot and I find myself annoyed most of the day

subscribed. I need to take my truck in for an oil change soon, so I'll ask about it then

I drive my 07 about 1k miles a week, so it doesn't take long to feel the clunk/jerk when driving wife's Denali. I am looking into putting 3.08 gears in my 07 for mpg now that we tow with hers.

I came on here to see if anyone was experiencing weird clunky shifting at odd times and saw this thread. I have not spoken to dealership yet about it, but need to take in in for the rings around the AC controls not lighting up. I will tell them about this. Hope they release it soon.

What year is your truck. My rings haven't been lighting up.

I'm usually an optimist but... between the no physical evidence, multiple people claiming their dealers have NO clue, and even someone with 32 years GM experience saying he has NEVER heard of of a 'BETA' update being given to someone...I'm calling BS.

God I hope I'm wrong though.

i beleive the OP 100% as no idiot would take the time and post some BS that does not make him better in anyway .

I just whole heartedly believe GM knows there is a problem but dont want to spend the time and $ addressing the issues.

When you work for GM , you have to be well versed in DAMAGE CONTROL .

I have no idea why we are debating the honesty and character of the OP. It is not meant to be a fix to your woes. He made no warranty expressed or implied.

He posted up some info. Hopefully you find it useful. If not, move along.

Hate to say this, you are wrong. This is not car repairs from 32 years ago. This is modern day new technology at work. As I said in another thread, I had the first "beta" updates to the infotainment system in my truck, heck my module is even a beta one that the infotainment engineer brought with him when they updated my system.

GM is starting to use actual customers to validate some of the updates. Different customers in different markets give them a better understanding if environmental differences can cause variances between fixes.

Well like I said, I hope I'm wrong. My 'calling of BS' has more to do with a TSB ever being released resulting from people like the OP.

Well why wouldn't they? They have been using all of us for their R&D for almost two years now on these trucks. What the hell are the engineers doing? Sitting around eating donuts all day? Well it worked on paper, or CAD.

It's not just the auto industry, but it pisses me off that I have to pay to do their Research and Development for them.

'been that way on virtually every type and make of product since ... well, since products have been made.

As complex as these modern vehicles are, they undergo incredible testing at all different levels, from components, assemblies, and finally the vehicle itself. Still, stuff happens that is unforeseen. There's no testing like 100,000 of your products in use.
