Is it just me wondering why GM would use a service writer and not one of their many engineers to help produce an update to the trans software?

Any chance that this service writer could come on here and explain what is actually taking place?

I think it's best that the engineers that created the current parameters are not involved in the fix!

My guy isn't on the forum, and honestly I don't want to get him in any trouble as I feel he did this more as a favor than anything if you know what I mean. So sadly I would like to keep my source anonymous. He again relayed as soon as this is close to fruition that he would advise. Don't mean to dangle the carrot in front of anyone.

Sorry bud no pics, no proof, didn't happen. Here lies the eternal laws of online forums.

haha, that's a valid point. A service advisor in Billings MT is going to bring this miracle to our trucks.

Again, no offense to topshelfprod if it happens to be true :D

I hear you fellows, and don't blame you for being dismissive of it. I am tempted to pull the thread just to stop confusion and chaos from happening until it actually gets produced. Again if I get a chance I will do a video this evening. The roads here turned to pure Ice yesterday but I will see what I can do.

Topshelfproducts told us his tech was also a racer. I find it completely within the realm of possibility that he has a friend within the drivetrain team up at the proving grounds. I know first hand they support the racing community within GM. I also find it completely within the realm of possibility this tech was given the tune from his drivetrain buddy to try out on his own (perhaps unsanctioned) and thus passed this joy to his friend - Topshelfproducts.

I haven't got my truck off the ocean liner from mexico yet, but I am also working on a new tranny tune secretly while I'm at work building 737s in Seattle. Though I'm not at liberty to discuss anything further and can no info about anything.

On another note I hope this secret tune will be available when my truck magically shows up

ill double your money on odds that the GM service rep on here wont post in this thread.

These people know better.

GM needs to step up here ...this truck drives like ass

Here is the video I made real quick tonight, may be really hard to notice the difference from the previous programming, but I certainly notice it driving around. I feel the shifts are quicker and tighter, and even downshifting seems to be much better. You can see from my other youtube video's I have been around motors for a while, and wouldn't just post this out here for no reason. Again I hope this hits the dealers sooner than later.

What is RPM under old transmission and what is it now with the update at 30-40-50-60-and 70 MPH. that should tell us something.

Thanks

The gears are set so really rpm's will not change at designated speeds. The difference is the shift points at what rpm it shifts, the quickness of shifts, smoothness etc.
