Transmission fix finally for 14-15 sierra silverado! WOOOOT!

I know on our Acadia there was a "optional" Trans. Flash update for customers who wanted the shift points to be different from what they were. It was offered to me by the dealer but he clarified it was not a tsb or a fix to anything but just a different programming set that was optional. Could be along the same lines

Agreed - but a visual post like "subscribed" shows GM (if they are watching) how many people are looking for this fix to become reality!

I'm a service writer at a Chevy/Buick dealership and I called GM technical asst. today and they didn't have any idea what I was talking about. I used my truck as a ref for a vin number. It's a 15 with a 5.3 and 3.42 gears. I also ordered a inTune yesturday.

Thanks for sharing that. If you don't mind me asking, why did you pick the InTune? Did you consider BlackBear at all?

Just confirmed with my writer this was from gm, he stated they are actually working with him to develop this, so he may be writing the program for them, or working with them on parameters. He stated it is really only out there for the dealer to try on demo's at this point. Don't give up faith! Stay thirsty my friends.

Thanks for sharing that. If you don't mind me asking, why did you pick the InTune? Did you consider BlackBear at all?

I have heard of BlackBear. But I hear he doesn't do any tranny tuning. But my top three choices would be have the place that tuned my stock Trailblazer SS that ran 13.0s with a tune, intake and ud pulley for $500. The place is an hour and a half away and "adjustments" would be a pain and the original tuner doesn't work there anymore. I thought about getting hptuners ($500) and learning along with hoping someone would send or sell me a tune to use. But since my truck is not a rocket ship and no tune will make it one, I went with the inTune pkg from Lew. It should get it running more pleasantly, a little more power, recalibrate for slightly larger tires I plan on installing, then Lew can massage a little more out it, and when I get rid of this leased truck, I should be able to use it on the next truck (prob not Lew's extra tuning) though. Lew has been around a long time. I remember him back in 05-06 when he tuned LS4 Monte Carlos/Impalas. So I'm fairly confident that he'll do a good job.

I hope this is true, while my transmission shifts are better it still clunks and seems almost in neutral sometimes, weirdest transmission ever

Blackbear does the transmission tuning as well. They are awesome. Retunes are very simple with the AutoCal device that somes with it and they will update the tunes for free. They have always been responsive when I have asked for a tweak of my tunes from them.

To be fair, I have heard the DiabLew tunes aren't that bad either. Can't really go wrong with either I guess.

Black Bear will tune the ECM and TCM. Click below if you want to read my review on the Black Bear tune. His TCM tune was great and was much more than increased shift points at WOT. Day to day driving, shifting patterns and overall drivability are much better now.

Yea, you can do that with Blackbear too. The AutoCal loads tunes in minutes.
