LMAO if that is the case then this thread is a complete fail and should be locked! haha

The person in reference is not the OP. Its a guy a few post back saying his truck shifts better after a BCM update....

Need to run to dealer at some point, I will ask for more details, as I said service manager told me this, after a weekend if driving it seems different, but seems those numbers don't mean what I thought, so I will try n clarify when I drop into dealer,

ok, update and don't cut my head off here, I have received alotta help on here and am trying to do the same,

Went to the dealer, we looked into this, but the paer work wasnt found because the girl who does it was off, looking around on computer we found a previous Pi 1029 but my truck was built a month after, so it should already have it

On the back of paper (PI 1029) it has 2880078 as a labor operation code and says for description "reprogram ECM/TCM"

On my receipt I have 2810215 as the labor operation code, but we could not find the PI the tech used and he was gone as well, I have to take the truck back on weds for evap part and he is gonna try and have the correct info for me then and a TSB or PI number,

did not mean to mislead anyone I do believe this is real, as I said in prev post my truck is driving a whole lot different

I will update this midweek, maybe someone knows what that labor operation code is and we dont have to wait, I'm sure someone on here is a tech at the dealer

LOL sorry skeeter, I promise i am trying to clarify things, so far my guy seems decent, and he is not actually my guy, bye that i mean not a friend, I have gotten cushy with several salesmen parts guy, and now taking a liking to my service manager, especially after I informed him about his inadequate tech who couldn't figure out how to snap my air box in place,

I got lost at about the 3rd comma in a row. Somewhere, a grade school grammar teacher is crying. :D

We're all good and not so good at different things. I'm glad he's providing valuable info.

I for one appreciate Eric's posts. Very credible, must be some paranoid peeps to get so wound up as to call Eric a liar. Nothing anonymous either...he gave his full name, location and has been on the forum for a while.

I'm skeptical that GM finally has a fix. Testing for 2 years and production approaching another 2 years-software fix or is there a design flaw? Similar issues with the 8 speeds and Fords? Got to wonder what's really going on....

Not calling him a liar, i believe what he says and what went down, calling BS on whether or not we will get to the bottom of this anytime soon. And not likely have a fix ASAP,that is the BS

TITLE says

I called BS on this statement,if we get a TSB to correct this then I will no longer call BS

I'm getting really tired of the "clunk" when coming out of V4 on a gear change....I've been running it in manual mode with 6th locked out for about a month now.

Overall, I'm happy with the truck...a more responsive transmission setting would be welcomed. I'm getting much much closer to tunning this thing. I'm going to keep thinking happy thoughts.

OK, I was told today bye my service guy that PI1029:upshift clunk, firm downshifts- (Aug 2, 2013) is what they did, Which is freaking ubsurd since my truck was built July 29, 2014. Apparently this PI has been updated under the same number, I have not found away to verify this, and usually there is a A, B, C, and so on after the numbers, I do not have that on my copy, I honestly don't know what to say beyond this, if you travel thru Buffalo i can take you for a ride, all I know is my truck is very different from a week ago, I would maybe take that PI number in and ask your service guy if they can find anything, or find away to c if there is a latest and greatest, although I feel this guy really went looking for me, it seems most don't get this kinda help from there dealers based on headlights feedback,
