I just bought my first black vehicle and I will never do it again. After 10k miles it already dosent look great and needs and full paint correction and it's never been through a car wash and only washed by hand by me.

You can't be too picky with these things in black. You've got to be okay with them from 10' away. The orange peel from the factory is very apparent, and it's not uncommon to see imperfections that you otherwise wouldn't see in a different color. I'm a bit OCD so every time I wash it and I find a new ding or scratch, etc. I have to remember that. But when I'm just walking up to it in a parking lot I love the look of it.

When I had my GTO restored, the shop told me they had to "block" the car a certain number of times depending on what color I chose. A white car might get away with two blockings, my dark aqua car needed four, and if I had gone with black I would have been looking at maybe six. It is tough, tough, tough to make a black car look perfect.

Looks great. What size tires did you mount on the original rims, and did you do anything to raise the front end? any rubbing? I assume those are OEM 18" rims. thanks

Yup... waxing involves a lot more effort and regular clay barring is a must.. With my black car isn't not a huge deal because it's my summer car and rarely see anything outside of sunshine.

Washed the truck on Sun' and rain the next 2 days makes for a clean truck.

Pretty hard to drive it anywhere for a better backdrop or it would be back to looking like a mess.

God I love the way a regular cab truck looks. Damn shame you can't put your wife and kids in the bed anymore, I wouldn't need this silly crew cab. Maybe Trump will fix that for me.

Tires are Cooper ST Max 295/70/18

Those were on the OEM wheels but I have since upgraded to Fuel wheels.

I turned the torsion bars raising the front end about 2". No rubbing what so ever but never ran them without raising the front end.

What size Ko2 bfg's do you have on your truck in this picure. Just picking up a 2016 and would like to swap out to 275/70R18 Ko2 without touching the tbar settings? Thanks.

2015 SLT with tubular side steps, 18" chrome wheels, 275/70/18 wrangler duratrac tires (33.2" diameter) love the way the tires make it look a lot more aggressive. Will be doing an inch of levelling in the front soon to compensate for the high amount of rake on this thing.

Any t bar adjustments to fit the 275/70R18?? Thanks.

My grandfather was in northern BC back in the 60s after he retired. He said Pa & the dog rode in the cab of the half ton, while Ma & the kids were in the box.
