Painting GMC logo

Recommended Posts

Would like to paint the GMC logo being that I do not see any white/chrome trimmed grille emblems for sale.

A coworker had mentioned plasti dip which i had never heard of until now. Curious to know how this is done? I would like to have it match the same white as the truck.Do I need a gloss or matte white? Anyone have pics of theirs?

Or I heard of people using vinyl?? Which is best?

I have this grille

2007-GMC-Sierra-Accessorized-Chrome-Appe

Im 50-50 on it. Came with truck when bought it. Some parts of me want to go back to this:

Would the logo transfer if i did decide to change or.. is it permanently attached to the grille?? Thanks

Plasti dip is really easy to use, just spray the area and and peel off around the emblem. If you search youtube there is a million videos on it.

I second plasti dip it's a rubber spray so if you mess up or get over it and want it off you can just peel it off funny im spraying mine with it as I type this d83ddb8eff8d9928c33d0e50bd70943f.jpg

Has anyone removed the GMC logo from the factory grille? I realize it is integral...but I think it would be a cool look to actually cut the GMC logo out (I know it is integral), then replace it with a section (maybe from a donor grille) that looks like the rest of the grille? So, attached is a really bad photo shop of what I was thinking:

I used Vinyl. It is holding up really well and was easy to put on. Did the GMC logo inside the centre hub too...
