Well there went almost $300 towards holsters today. Thanks for bringing up Simply Rugged 3 more of their holsters on the way...:-D

Just bought a Smith and Wesson M&P Shield in 9mm off Palmetto State Armory. $320 and free shipping, PLUS a $75 mail in rebate, I just couldn't pass up that deal

Not an easy question to answer, I have an eye for small concealable firearms and carried a duty weapon and back up when I worked in uniform, latter it was the easiest to pack and conceal with plain clothes. I carried a LW Commander in 9mm or a S&W Mod 3913 9mm but now retired I vacillate between:

Sig P 238---.380

Kimber Micro ---.380

Colt Mustang---.380

Glock G42---.380

S&W Bodyguard---.380

S&W Shield----9mm

Sig P 938---9mm

Along with an SCCY 9mm for a "truck gun"

But my best defense is Maddie, the Westie I am holding in the photo...she would lick the bad guy to death.

Just recently replaced my Glock 30SF with this S&W Shield .45 ACP as my primary carry weapon. Very impressed with its accuracy. Also a bit easier to conceal than the Glock!!

I've gone back to my G32- trying to stay with pistols without a manual safety (for carry anyhow) so the 938 is getting a break. I'm on the call list as soon as my local shop gets the VP9SK. Also toying with a G43 or maybe one of the XDS variants.

I have a 3.3 XDS in 45, it makes a good carry piece.

I was all about a manual safety with my first CCW, but after carrying a while; I would never have a CCW with a manual safety again.

Gen 3 glock 27 .40, 7b16150c173aaff38bf739d8b23cb88f.jpgwith zev trigger spring kit. In a kydex holster. Both mags have +1 pinky extensions. Love the set up. Very reliable. Never had an issue with the trigger springs. The lighter pull is great.

Mike, Check out the G43 before buying, I have a G 42 and love it, bought G 43 and was supprisingly disappointed in it as a whole. First it had function problems that probably would work themselves out, however it did not feel good in my hand, did not point well, had more recoil than it should have ( spoiled by my 938) so I just generally hated it. Finally traded it to a buddy for a P 238 ( made three for me so I really did not need it) and a dozen Sig and Mustang magazines.

I'm sure I got the better part of the deal.

That was my experience, you may find the weapon to your liking.

I shot a friends 43 two summers ago and didn't like the trigger at all. He's since put an Apex trigger in it and I'd like to try again. I'm probably going to hold out for the VP9SK. It's bigger than a 43 or my 938 but I love my full size one, just a bit too big to carry.

So far my carry guns have been an XD Mod.2 in .45acp, was too bulky so I bought a G43. Gun runs well and fits my hand decent with the +1 Pearce grip extension on it. Now I have this Shield in 9mm and waiting to buy another alien gear shell for it. Still own all the guns, I also conceal carry my P320 from time to time, but that's more of an open carry gun.

I too don't believe in a manual safety for carry guns, not a single handgun I own has a manual safety matter of fact. Just that extra step that's unnecessary

Yeah, I've been getting a ton of emails on M&Ps from all the stores running their sale + rebate. So tempted myself, but kind of wanted to shoot one and also a springfield xdm before buying.

I have an xdm. Nice handguns but both are too bulky for my fatass to conceal lol. $245 after rebate I just couldn't pass it up. I want to shoot an xds (single stack version of the xdm) and I'll probably end up buying one. I used to be a hardcore Springfield guy but my Sig P320 converted me. I still like the dovetail safety on my Springfields though, I think that was a good touch they did

I've got a Ruger SR9c for daily carry and also a sig SP2340. But want to add another. I should just get the M&P, but I see where Springfield is offering 4 free mags and holster with purchase
