Thanks everyone! Just dropped in to update the last few parts I have for sale from the gmc and all I have to report on the ram is that the only complaint so far is the cupholder doesn't hold a redbull very well I think I can handle that have a good one!

Made a deal this morning for a new ram 1500 Outdoorsman. I was a Dodge man from age 16, but two of our local dealers closed in the 09 bankruptcy and so I came over to GM after some good experience with a 94 used chevy truck. now, with the current issues with my GMC, not limited to, cracked dash, peeling paint, rust, flaking wheels, and now an oil pressure code that the dealer can't figure out, all of this with 46k garage kept miles, its time for me to move on. I looked at a new Silverado but they were far higher with less options than the Ram, and the Ram just "feels" right to me. so I want to thank everyone here for being so great. I'll stick around to sell my mods hope some guys here can use them and get a good deal on what I've got. PLUS, I still drive a 2011 2500HD for work so I've got reasons to check in here.

Thanks again, it's been great

Nice truck! What are the options?

Did the same thing. Got a 2015 Ram 1500 eco Diesel and love it but when the buyer of my 2010 GMC white diamond drove away he did drive away with the nicer looking truck. But at 30 Mpg I can't worry about the looks of a truck

My second new truck was a Dodge.

Stepside with an 8' bed.

Oak planks in bed.

They don't make those anymore. The stepside is virtually gone now. The oak bed gone too.

Anyone care to guess as to why those trucks in earlier years had oak (hint: wood) planks in bed? From factory.

I never gave it a lot of thought why they had the wood floors in the beds, but I sure preferred them over the steel floors we have now. I sure know why I have wood floor in my semi truck dry box trailer and would not have it any other way.

Probably because they were easily replaced if they got trashed.

And to the best of my knowledge the stepside is totally gone. GM stopped it toward the end of the 800-series trucks, Ford stopped in 2008 and I have no idea when Ram stopped but I'd guess 80s or earlier.

Ya I'm guessing that the maintenance and to keep the wood flooring was too much so most let them rot. To be honest, it's probably cheaper to replace a full metal floor than wood. Think about how much maintenance it is to keep a hardwood floor is good condition in a house, so try doing that to a truck bed floor where it's open to weather and using the bed for what's it's intended.

About stepsides, they only look good on old hot rods in my opinion.

nice air force blue.

can see it tugging power generators and lox carts. :)

I agree on the pricing gone crazy..but letting go of the older models, not something I would do. I am a welding mad man anyway, whenever I can.

Not many gave the double relied oil cooler a billet filter to add 400,000 more miles to the old iron block either.

Jack of all trades is a master of none.

people are afraid of longevity, and then complain when it does not happen.

Yes, back to the posters truck.

All new trucks are nice in my opinion.

If you get what you want - then that is a success.

I'm not brand loyal. I have had Ford trucks, a Dodge truck, and a few Chevrolet/GMC trucks. And throw in the new Datsun truck I got brand new for $2,550.00.

Yes, this Dodge is a nice truck.

So how's the Dodge working out for you so far?

I personally think they are beautiful trucks on the outside, never owned one and interested to hear your honest opinion.

How's the Hemi & transmission compared to the GM powerplant you had in the 09?
