2014/2015 AFM oil usage?

Hey, are you all experiencing any oil usage problems? I know my '09 Silverado 5.3 used about a quart of oil every 500 miles until I turned off the AFM. Supposedly the 2014/2014 Silverados/Sierras have an updated AFM system. My family is looking at trading up to the new model, but I am hesitant about anything with AFM.

37,500 miles on my 2014 and I haven't noticed any consumption. I have been changing the oil around 7500 miles and the level on the dipstick is the same as when I filled it.

My AFM is disabled but you still lose oil through the pcv. My catch can is usually halfway full after 1500 miles of driving

About half a quart for around 5k miles for my '15 5.3l FFV with a fully functional AFM.

Me either, no oil usage. Got around 5500 miles on it, AFM is fully functional and hasn't used any oil at all, dipstick is right where it should be every time I check.

The oil consumption on the 900s started with higher mileage for most, Mine started around 40-50,000. Oil consumption mostly caused by the clogging of rings due to PVC set up.

Main concern for me on AFM is the lifters going bad. I have seen such in my friends shop. And my dealer says they have had some in for lifters. This was a direct cause of AFM. (some blame lifter design?)

If I get a K2, a catch can goes on the first week. AFM shut off next week. May try the range.

I wish I had turned off AFM on my 2007 before trading it in. I discovered that solution too late. That truck was paid off and I was enjoying not having a payment.

So far so good on my 2014 I'm not losing any oil other than what I wipe off the dipstick and what I catch in my catch can. I've been making it a point to drive around in M5 around town to keep it in 8 cylinders unless the 6th gear is really needed so I'm hoping that helps. I'd like to get the Range AFM delete module eventually though.

AFM killed the lifters in the 900s.

The 900 oil burn was due to the poor PVC design allowing way to much oil vapor to clog the rings and then the oil burn goes to full scale.

ON k2s Turn off AFM to save the lifters, in case new designed lifters do not hold up. Catch can to save back of valves and keep oil out of the rings, in case new PVC design has not corrected the 900 issue. (based on inspections it does not look good for the DI valves)

I had a 2008 GMT900 6.0L Vmax. Justin did a custom tune, but I had him leave AFM active. It never burned any noticeable amount of oil between changes up till the time I sold it at 150,000 miles. I changed the oil when the OLM light came on and put in M1. My brother owns it now.

This 2014 5.3L is about 20,000 miles and I've not noticed any oil burn.
