Lol yeah can I lean on you and please wipe my tears unless you work for gm and going to replace this POS there not much you can do without voiding the warnty and with all the problems I have had I not going to give them the pleasure of that

Really? If you hate it so much, park it in a vacant lot and light it on fire!

This thread was informative until the nonsense started. The OP did everyone a favor and you should be thankful he made everyone aware of the recall/update.

Get yourself a tune, your truck will be fixed and drive much better than GM factory programming will ever allow.

Perhaps GM has finally figured out the cause and developed a fix for it????

I asked about the #2015216, I was told it's not a valid bulletin number. Wonder if it's preliminary?

^^^^^^

Never really heard of a prelim. service bulletin or any information being released prior to just sending the actual bulletin to dealerships.

The problem GM has, along with most other manufacturers that sell trucks is they are all in an MPG war and have to also meet Govt. regulators "green" numbers which is BS IMO.

If GM would not hold the trucks power back as much as they do, there would not be as many issues, especially with sloppy shifting and crap throttle response.......

Hopefully they will get this transmission issue resolved. You guys paid a lot of money for those new 6.2L trucks and should not have to go through the nonsense to make your truck shift normally.

i had the bolt recall done yesterday. no more pop forward when coming to a stop.

the number is not a valid bulletin number because it's not a bulliten, it's a recall and if it applies to your truck it will come up when they run your vin, otherwise don't sweat it.

I had the T/C recall done too.. is that what you are referring to? (What is the "bolt recall")? I still have the luching forward when coming to a stop issue even after the trans recall update.. I took it back and they said it was too intermittent to properly attempt to diagnose, but "relearned" the transmission.. it was a lot better at first.. but now doing the same thing (but very intermittent.)

Thoughts? Anyone else experiencing this?

I have yet to do the recalls. I think a intune will fix a lot of the transmission issues.

On this particular point of a tune fixing tranny issues with the 8 speed - Can anyone confirm that it does help take care of the issues? The reason I ask is because I reached out to diablew and Lewis Eaton said the following when I asked about the gains from his custom tunes for 2015 6.2 (this response is dated 5/9/15):

I have seen (from dyno pulls) my tunes get gains of 25hp over stock, and 17hp more than the preset diablosport tunes...

FYI - if you have the 8 speed transmission, no tuning can be done for that transmission.. the 8 speed tranny is not supported yet... once it is supported, it will be a free downloadable update for the tools... but in the meantime, nothing can be done for shifting, shift points, shift pressure, how quick it shifts, etc...

If you have the 6 speed transmission, no issues there.. the 6 speed tranny is supported and I do a custom tcm/tranny tune for it as well.

So yeah, just curious what people with tuners have actually seen for the 8 speed tranny after a tune?

Two separate recalls. Driveshaft or U-joint bolts.

There is access to the 8 speed, it is just limited compared to the 6 speeds (which have been out for like 10 years vs 1 year). I can edit shift points but not pressure or shift speed. I can also edit some of the torque management settings. I don't use Diablo stuff though.

Sorry about that. I spoke without proper information. Didn't know the 8spd wasn't supported that we'll or if at all.

Higgs Boson-

"Two separate recalls. Driveshaft or U-joint bolts."

I wasn't aware there was a recall for the Driveshaft and U bolts.. only torque converter software.. I did a check and those recalls did not show up... Guessing it is not listed as a recall for the 2015 Silverado 6.2l 8sp?? Did it help the lurch forward or banging into 2nd gear?

I am interested in HPT..does it come with its own interface to load software/tunes or to use a Off the Shelf tool? (Diablto intune/trinity).. Is it ia fairly good assumption that custom software tuners use HPT to do the custom tunes?

Oh no problem! I was just curious if that had changed and the 8 speeds are now supported was all :)

The main complaints I have about the 8 speed are:

1. Startup and the 1-2 shift is kinda scary

2. When you floor it, it seems confused for an overly undue amount of time. The power on demand for a 420hp engine leaves a lot to be desired...

These two issues seem like tuning would fix it, so I am keenly interested in tuning, IF it'll fix it :)
