Own the 14 Silverado since Jan 02 2015, and never use the Pandora radio Therefore, call GM and OnStar for instructions, the said never heard about it and never heard about BYOM. I ask the OnStar guy for a software update, the turn out told me THE 4G LTE UPGRADE HARDWARE IS FREE!!! IT ALSO COME WITH 3 month 3G data and 5 year base plan.

SO, guys don't let gm take advantage frim you.

So how do you go about getting the upgrade?

So how do you go about getting the upgrade?

Canadians got a notice that CDMA is getting shutdown, so Canadians will have to be forced to go on 3G or LTE.

Need to receive a letter from onstar first before you are eligible to go in for it.

Wow, the only reason I may need to call OnStar ever is to get the free update if they are offering it here in the USA. I use the OnStar app all the time in the winter months.

Can anyone clarify here...is this a hardware or software update?

The original post says hardware update for the 2014's. Find it hard to believe that GM would be willing to do that. I'm gonna follow this thread and see if anyone with a 14 can confirm

For those who want the update, just call OnStar(blue button) on your truck, ask for update.
