2016 Redesign wtf

I was not a GM owner prior to the release of the 2014. I loved the tough somewhat throwback lines of this style, looks like a truck should. I liked it enough to trade in my 10 month old 2013 F150 and buy my first GM product. Holding my opinion on the new redesign until it shows up in person. I like it but I don't think as much as our current trucks. I will not be buying regardless just so happy with the current truck, to put that in context I have been buying trucks every two to three years. I have owned Ford, Ram, Toyota so I have no brand loyalty or bias, just go on what I like at the time.

If this 2016 was the version available when I was shopping for the 2014 I don't believe it would have been enough to pull me over to be a first time GM owner.

I am interested to know if the 8 speed transmission will be standard on all trucks. Or will it be on the higher-end trucks and/or special order trucks.

I guess I'm alone here but I hate it. What a weak looking front end. And what is it with GM making headlights smaller and smaller? The Camarro's lights look like eyes trying to peak through a set of miniblinds and I guess the Silverado is now following suit? I dunno maybe it will grow on me with time but so far, this picture coupled with the 8 speed tranny makes me REALLY glad I bought a 2014 with a 6 speed....

I've been told that the Sierra and the Current headlight design makes it hard to see at night. So far I haven't had any complains with the current Silverado tho.

That integrated valance is going to be an issue.

I guess the redesign looks good. But thanks for making my truck look old now, GM.

I need to see a version with more chrome on the front. The design is okay, but a chrome crossbar and grille surround would be great looking.

ya i took mine off within a couple months of getting it. i thought it would rip off while on the trails by my cottage. but then a buddy took his 2011 Z71 through all the trails...and the ATV trail...and the closed ATV trail... and his didnt even get scratched but we sure smacked his frame off a few rocks.

No. There was no reason the change the 900's so quickly. These K2XX's are not attractive, in or out. Unfortunately, what Chevy has done to the '16 is not an improvement...

Reminds me of the 2003 Silverado front clip, which is the ugliest thing to come from GM since the Aztek.

I honestly don't think the 16 would have grabbed me like the 15 did for me. To think I almost signed for a 14F150 FX4....

I cringe now but if that 16 was out during my shopping I might have been lured back to ford...depending on how many drinks I had. Haha

ill never touch a ford, when i was looking at for my 14 sierra i had a buddy (sales manager of a ford dealer) offer me a fully loaded FX4 or Lariat v8 even power running boards for about the same i paid for my SLE...

well if this does come out maybe our trucks will be " classics or hard to find and sought after" lol. because i love my 2014 silverado i think that these new truck will look like some foreign imported truck.

Looks fine to me, I am perfectly happy with my 14 though. Going to have to be something more significant than that to lure me into the dealership for a new one.
