For those of you getting a 2016.. my lights grill and bumper are for sale.... lmao not! Gosh what's next there gonna bring back the 4.8... 5.0...5.7 gm if you read this reconsider.. postpone the new front end and make a complete new truck for 2024. I'm tired of hearing about the ford f series being best seller year after year.. psst the current 2014-15 silverado's are bad ass alot of people I know and complete strangers are wanting one after seeing mine..

I don't think the hood would fit. Look at the line between the hood and grille. The raised cowl part comes in closer to the middle of the '16. You'll see it better if you look at the 3 side by side. When I got my '14 I thought about putting a '15 HD hood on it, but after looking at them side by side I saw that it's not a direct fit.

I think you're right. Just got off of work and looked at my hood a little closer. The shapes are definitely different. What a shame...

Rather have 14/15 with 16 hood. Not impressed with this MCR so far.

Anyone have any idea what auto show they may actually unveil this officially?

Will be unveiled at the State Fair of Texas in September.

Dont like the bottom LED string on the lights other than that looks good, I am just not a fan of the led outline on headlights. As someone mentioned all I care about is getting the mylink update in my 15 which I think will be available later next year.

I agree the 14-15 are bad ass I get a lot of great comments on mine. I am not sure how anyone can say the 15 F-150 is a good looking truck that front grill with the indentation at the headlights is horrible. In my opinion the 14 looked much better. I'm a Chev guy anyway so I would say these things.

Not a huge fan either. Don't like the bar going across... I'd rather something like this

(less of a re-design, and poor photoshopping but you get the idea)

This looks great!!! Just like the lights on the current 14 LT version better. I'm buying a 15 HD and want to figure out how to get rid of those ugly looking low beam, projector looking lites.

I really wanted them to come out with something with LED running lights but "THIS"??!!!!! :( It looks more like an over-sized Colorado. I'm gonna have to pass on the "refresh" and wait for the "redesign" in a few years. IMHO they've just ruined the lines of the whole front end.

Agreed. I'll buy one on 2018-19 if they look better than this. A lot of people like it though so I think they'll sell. Sounds like the opinions when the 14 came out back in late 12 I believe when we saw the first pics of the 14.

I think I just really like the fact that they color matched the grill. I don't really care for the LED strips.

Who knows if all trims will come color matched though.

Its def an ltz z71 trim. I bet the z71 gets a color matched grille standard now. They have the white and black trucks that look great now color matched.

I have been thinking seriously about getting a new Silverado with the 5.3L. My 3 biggest questions on this refresh are:

1. Should I be interested in waiting for a 16 to get the 8-speed?

2. What will the cost difference be between the 15s and 16s assuming they put healthy incentives on the 15s and much smaller incentives on the 16s and is that cost difference worth it? I'm assuming the equivalent 16 will cost several thousand more.

3. As part of this refresh, is it possible they've implemented anything that might fix or reduce the vibration problem? I don't think they would make this known to the public but I certainly wonder if they may have waited for this refresh to introduce some improvements instead of trying to add it to the on-going production of the 15s.

My current daily driver pickup is 15 years old so the time is right for me to replace it. I would normally be inclined to take the 15 and the extra cash and be happy but I plan to keep the new one for a long time which is one of the reasons I wonder about the 8-speed and other potential improvements.

Yup

The custom sport white grill is awesome, I'd own one already if I could get it in a crew, but just like the a/t no summit white in a crew, but that's another issue lol

Sure, but if you are wanting to trade in the next 4 months for example, it will be more expensive than the out going '15 if both model years are on the lot. More so due to rebates in getting old inventory off the lot.

The 8 speed for me is something that is cool, but would not count on it to return a higher mpg/lower cost to operate to offset the cost of a '16 vs a '15.

2. What will the cost difference be between the 15s and 16s assuming they put healthy incentives on the 15s and much smaller incentives on the 16s and is that cost difference worth it? I'm assuming the equivalent 16 will cost several thousand more.

Trucks continue to go up in price & options every single year. Since you are keeping this long term, you will have to decide which is important to you. But as you know, it will be the rebates that make the biggest difference.

Buyers remorse is expensive too. So if you are really locked on to items that are only available with the 2016, make that decision before staring at prices on the 2015's.

You will just have to assume that as a no. Given the volume they are selling of this truck every month, it would be low on my radar in terms of concern. By all means, check it out & do a long test drive before signing the paperwork. But that should be the case with any vehicle.

You will have to weigh out the advantage of the 8 speed for YOU in addition the appearance vs rebates on the outgoing 15. The 15 will also have a higher mileage warranty on the power train. 5yr 100,000 mile vs 5yr 60,000 mile on the '16. For me, I have 12,500 miles on a 2013 & would not exceed the mileage term in either case. But each buyer will obviously be different.

The 2016 will also receive Apple car play & Android auto if that means anything to you. http://www.gm-trucks.com/forums/topic/173293-android-auto-apple-carplay-coming-to-16-chevy-silverado/

Am unsure of any other interior or tech changes as of now.
