How many trucks DONT vibrate?

Bought in March of '14, and I have a little over 26,000 miles right now. Have to say this is one fine truck. Best vehicle I've owned to date. Not one issue (other than the damn radio) to speak of. Runs awesome, and rides just as well at any speed. I normally cruise on the pike at around 75 and have had it to 94 a few times. Smooth as glass. :thumbs: Thanks GM! :)

Built in Oct. of '13.

I guess I would ask the OP why would he consider buying the same brand and hope that it doesn't vibrate.

Sort of like going to a restaurant getting sick on the food and then going back and hoping the food was ok.

There are plenty of other Trucks to consider.

There are WAY too many posts here to say that the problem is not systemic.

 

the only way it will get fixed is if we vote with our feet.... walk out the door and buy someone else's truck simple.

My guess is that he's brand loyal. Like me and I'd assume most everyone on this forum. IMO, there are far more people that are this way than not. I don't believe there is anything (aside from GM becoming nonexistent) that could/would make me change badges. :)

Just google terms like "Tundra cam tower", "Tundra piston slap", "Tundra rust", "Tundra front diff", etc. It's sad to see just how far Toyota quality has slipped into mediocrity these days. I could overlook the ridiculous premium that Toyota asks for their trucks, but between the horrible 90's era interior, flimsy bed/frame, gas guzzling fuel economy, and lousy handling/ride, it's pretty obvious why GM sell more trucks in 2 months than Toyota sells in 12. I'd rather drive a Ram than a Tundra. And that's saying a lot.

My 2015 LT Z71 5.3 4WD has less than 500 miles but so far, very smooth up to the highest speed I've had it, 75 mph.

 

Back when I bought my 2005 F-150 there was lots of discussion concerning excessive vibration being posted on F-150 forums. Mine never did up to 120,000 miles when I traded it. IIRC, most of the blame was put on driveshafts out of balance.

Just curious to know if I am chasing a ghost here. We're test driving lots of trucks because GM has agreed to replace our vibrator. When you all say NO vibration does that mean absolutely ZERO. Or do you all have a very slight one at highway speeds? We've tried 4 2015 sierras and they all had a light vibe on the highway. I just curious if I should keep test driving all these trucks or if a light vibration in the highway is actually normal. As one of the salesman said, it's all relative depending on people. I'm willing to continue searching if there really are trucks out there that truly do NOT vibrate at all or if my body has been tuned to feel every imperfection, normal or not. Thanks for the input!

I think you should ask GM if you could wait and get in the new 2016 trucks. Very curious if they fixed it on those, if not its time to move onto something else.

As long as there is a rotating mass, there will be vibration. Now, how well you balance it out is a diff story. Our 14 Impala has a highway vibe and they can't balance it out. I know its the tires BC it was smooth for the first 18k.

 

Go drive a Ford for giggles and I guarantee you'll feel a vibration just because you're hyper sensitive to it now.

No vibe 90% of time. Smooth as silk. (4.8k miles)

Mild vibe on long sweeping highway curves at 75mph. (Tires maybe??)

Just came back from TN another 500 miles and again no vibrations what so ever. My best mpg was 26.4 going an average of 75 mph.

All the truck manufacturers of LD trucks have some issues of their trucks vibrating. F-150forum.com, Tacomaworld.com, Tundrasolutions.com and the Ram forums where I don't venture.....do a search, there are quite a few complaints across all manufacturer boards of vibration. Don't take the sampling of issues here as a reflection overall of these trucks. My current Silverado is on par with my previous 2007 Tacoma in terms of any issues and recalls. Some of the complainers here, are just looking for validation to move on to a new vehicle or have buyers remorse for not buying the right model truck.

I'm about to trade my double cab for a crew for more room and just to get out of my vibrating truck. The dealership is giving me the run around and I'm just not in the mood to fight. I'm getting one heck of a deal with a special going on right now with 13k off SLT trucks but I'm afraid the new one will do it too. Test drove 4 trucks total and 3 vibrated at the 72mph mark while the other was butter smooth.

 

How many don't? Just post yes or no.

Just wait till you buy a lemon that GM will deny is one. You will be singing a different tune then.

I have owned them all none of the trucks I have owned vibrated. even my 2015 Sierra

      I'm not sure if this should be a new topic, let me know if it's out of place. This my first post. Thanks 85077522 - AC Delco GM Genuine Parts Brake Master Cylinders. Anyone else had to replace this brake master cylinder yet. I didn't do any brake work, it looks like new parts and I've had the truck for about 4k miles, 119k total miles.  When it started to throw codes I did the calibrations with a bidirectional scanner and got the codes to clear but they came back so I did the routine; base bleed, automated bleed and final base bleed. All that with Bosch ES16-32N fluid (please look it up). That seemed to fix it but 100ish miles later it failed again so I ran the same process but with a pressure bleeder this time and got the same results, fixed for 100ish miles. The original fluid looked bad and I thought I got most of it out, it could've been the wrong fluid. The codes; P25A2, C05B0-00, C2A1B. I can get them to clear but not for long. The C05B0 indicates a leak in the front circuit (which is bone dry) so I'm thinking of doing the bleed process on that front again today and I don't know if that's taboo to just do the front but at this point it seems like it's worth the try anyway. The new master cylinder/module unit is supposed to get here today. But now I'm pretty much convinced this install is over my head. I've called several shops and some mobile guys that I know but this thing is like radio active material, scary wise. I did get 2 local shops say they should be able to do it, one says he has the SPS2 programing capability. And with the battery disconnected is there supposed to be pedal resistance, mine is to the floor, then if I pump it I can get some resistance. I had a panic stop prior to this issue which may have contributed from what I read. And on the first attempt to bleed and hydraulic test the scanner listed things to look for and one was any gaps between the pad and rotors which I did notice on the RF corner and I removed the outer pad (where the gap was) cleaned it and the hardware and didn't see a gap after that but will re-check it. I read that if pushing the caliper pistons back then you're supposed to open the bleeder so as to not push fluid backwards into the abs module or it will damage it. If that's true then that's also a possibility from the previous owner having the brakes changed before I got it. I'm using an XTool ip500 scanner. Any suggestions, questions and comments welcome.

      Next Friday will be my 6 week point from my right knee replacement.  The surgeon says it will be fine if I choose to drive after this checkup.  I know I could drive now but best to do as my surgeon (and my wife) tell me.  Richard compared being 62 to 72.  I remember when I was in my early 60's I was experiencing slow but regular decline in my mobility.  Thanks to good medical support,  i continued to fight the speed and spread of this decline. During my 60's I worked on non-surgical methods and just when I turned 70, my orthopedic surgeon recommended joint replacements.  In a little over a year, I had one shoulder and both knees replaced.  This hasn't been a terribly fun experience, but worth the discomfort as my future mobility health trajectory has reversed.  It is a treat to now be watching my mobility. balance and confidence steadily improve!
