2016 Seats Not Cooled?

Looks like the wording on the KB6 code has changed from 'heated on cooled' in 2015 to 'heated and vented' for 2016.

That way the dealers can tell people "operation normal" when the seat isn't getting very cold hahaha.

 

My 2014 "cooled" seats should have been titled "vented" then I wouldn't be so disappointed lol.

I agree, they are not so hot ( pun intended ) I would not get them in my next truck unless it was a freebie.....

After a hard days work I enjoy my cooled/vented seats. I consider it more of a supplement to the AC and enjoying them might be a direct correlation to sweat output.

They never were cooled. They just fixed the name.

Vented is a better naming for cooled seats because that's what they really are. They "vent" the heat from the seats.

I tested the theory yesterday and left my A/C off and turned my seats on and guess what.. My seats got very cool. they may not have true A/C in the seat, but they do work enough to say " cooled seats ".

They should put an HVAC duct under the seat to blow super cold air in the seat. I want to sit on an ice pack.

Are the GM seats not electronic charged like the Fords are? This makes them "A/C" vs just air moving like a hockey table.

The current seats are cooled not just vented. I own a vented seats vehicle and a cooled vehicle...there is a big difference. That is, if they are working properly. Each seat has a cooling device.

The GM seats are in fact vented and so are the fords. I have used the GM parts and the ford parts in other applications where people wanted a vented seat. It is a small fan, ducting, and a perforated air distribution pad that goes into the seat. It only feels like AC because it is recirculating the cold cabin air.

Was not intending to start debate about effectiveness of the current system. I like the cooling, but don't like the fan noise from the seat cooling/ventilation.

Best that I can dig up, its the same parts 2014-2016. They just changed the description. There is cooling with that device yet at the same time, there is venting ducts and a blower fan to vent the heat out.

Mine cool great and get very cold. I will never own another vehicle without them or the heated steering wheel.
