Anyone buy your truck - just because

It's a truck. I've driven trucks for close to 25 years. I love the ride height - the safety factor - and the power. I really don't tow much - nor do I need the bed for moving stuff. I bought this truck because it's what I wanted to drive. Anyone out there purchase for the same reason.

I'm willing to bet MOST of the truck owners are for the same reasons. Granted, some of those people do use the bed from time to time.

My favorites are the Z71 trucks with 24's and rubber bands for tires.

I've driven cars. I've driven CUV's. Ive driven trucks. Trucks are the most comfortable for me. Im not a huge guy, but im 6', 215. I like the commanding view of the road. The comfortable seating. Powerful engines. And the bed is nice when I need to haul stuff.

I dont care that much about the mileage, it is what it is.

I did! And it looks by your avatar that we bought the same one!

I'm from Michigan, and trucks are pretty standard for a lot of reasons. The snow can get brutal when we actually have a winter and 4x4 is a necessity. I don't tow much, but it's nice to have when I do. A couple times a year I can shoot up north with the family and take the quad trailer, or borrow the boat for a weekend, or go pick up a load of firewood or a broken down car with the trailer. Hunting camp definitely requires a truck.

I was just stationed in Japan for three years where there is not a lot of trucks and I only had a normal car. I found out I absolutely cannot live without a truck bed. I apparently throw a lot back there. We had a large minivan and the seats folded down in the back so it was at least as roomy as a Tahoe, but it wasn't a truck.

I also had a 2004 SLT crew cab short bed, and I really hated not having at least a standard bed.

So now I have a Denali 6.2 crew cab standard bed to make me happy and it hits all my wickets of comfort, power, style, durability, and utility.

Not me. I need a truck for my paying hobby of providing PA systems.

I've been driving a truck in some guise for over 30 years now as my primary vehicle.

I would like to have a sports car for when I don't need the truck but just can't afford to and don't want to bother with expense and maintenance of so many cars in the household.

So I keep buying a truck to replace the worn out one.

I bought my 15 Sierra just to buy it. After driving an SUV for almost 9 years it was time for a change.

Havent really used the bed to move stuff around so far but its nice to have in case I need it one day.

6 months in and so far no problems!

Zero reason to drive a truck if I thought about it rationally. I live downtown, I don't own a boat or camper, I never use the bed, I don't haul stuff for work...

I just got it because why not? 6.2 has lots of power, I'd end up buying a car like the Chevy SS which is almost as much as a truck, it fits 5 people very comfortable and won't get stuck in the snow :)

Yeah no kidding, makes me laugh every time. I seen a Hummer H2 with 26's and looked like bicycle tires....why..just why people, makes no sense to me.

I'm coming from a 2006 Crew Cab Colorado, Z71 2wd; after having space for 5 AND A BED, there's no turning back to anything else. I just upgraded everything with my 2015 Silverado.

I chase the Baja races for fun, so yeah, truck's the way to go.

Over the years I've had some just because and some for work.

Currently in daily driver and occasional tow mode.

I mostly bought mine just because. Working at a GM dealership, I wanted to buy a new vehicle, preferably an SUV but any smaller SUV with a V6 was more money than a double cab 4X4 WT with a V8 (and I just plain didn't like them). I didn't need all the bells and whistles so I did up a blackout edition work truck and would never turn back. Since I've had my truck I will say that I have certainly put the bed to use which is nice in helping my justify having it.

No I didn't buy it just because - I don't hate driving a truck but it is not my first choice. I bought the truck for hauling stuff, snow and bad weather duty in the winter and ground clearance/4WD for getting to the cabin and other places. In good weather, I prefer to drive the car in my signature or the Jeep if the wife allows.
