Black Bear Performance

Just a little FYI. I had my truck tuned by Blackbear a little over a year ago. It was an in person tune and I chose not to buy an auto cal. I just wanted a "set it and forget it" tune thinking I would not keep the truck too long. Anyway, the point I'm trying to get to is this. For you guys that aren't very good with computers or just don't want to deal with it yourself the "in person" tune is THE WAY to go if its an option for you. I have had zero problems and LOVE my tune. The dealer knows about my tune and couldn't care less but I have to declare that I have bought 5 new Silverados in 7 or 8 years. Plus you get the benefit of having Justin ride along with you and tune your truck just the way you like it. Now this might not sound like a big deal but it makes all the difference in the world when it comes to the TCM. We spent quite a while driving around getting my trans tune dialed in and my truck runs great. Did I gain any more H.P. than normal? Maybe? I doubt it. But my transmission seems to be able to read my mind and I love it. I swear it couldn't be any better if it was a manual and had a clutch. No more banging and clanging, upshifts too soon or any issues like when you would floor it and then "nothing." If thats ever happened to you then you know what I'm talking about. Like with a stick shift I can now just lug around in third gear without all the drama without it upshifting too soon and I get to control when it shifts with the throttle input. So if BBP are coming to a town near you I would send a deposit in and secure a spot. Best 300 bucks I have ever spent. Well.... legally that is.

I had the same experience with Justin here in DFW, and couldn't agree with you more. Felt like I got a new truck and it really had a 6.2 in it after all. best mod ever

Can you get more than 1 tune. Like 87, 91 and e85 specific tunes then transmission tuned?

Yes he will send you whatever type of tune you need. And on top of that he will retune it for free. As long as it is same vin.

I am hoping a tuning event comes close to WV soon, I am about fed up with the shifting points on the Silverado. :nonod:

Anyone have experiences with the tune smoothing out the rough downshifts/occasional clunking that occurs when coming to a complete stop?

I've been having a heck of a time with communication with BBP. I'm looking to get my truck dyno tuned, because I'm just not happy with BBP. I talked to multiple people with the same issues with BBP. If you just do one tune, set and forget, then it might be the way to go. But, if you make mods, and need BBP to adjust, go another route... YMMV...

thats what i figured. it would cost them some serious time & money to have to adjust the tunes for life for a customer.

I'm suprised ...  I had BBP first tune when I hit 5000 miles on my 15 a few years ago...   with my mods being added , another recent exhaust change at 70,000 , I sent data logs and recieved new tune , firmed up my shifts a little bit more and other tweaks....    no problem ...

Hello Isaac, I reached to the tuner in regards to your situation. He mentioned your transmission issues started after you installed SLP's tune and that while we are willing to work with you to try to correct those issues, we cannot put your free update in front of new paying customers or other updates.  Everybody gets equal treatment in that regard.

***I also wanted to add, we are happy to try to continue to help you out, but judging by your last email you sent to us, we've made big improvements for you.
