Do you back into a spot or pull in?

Saw on another thread people were mentioning how it was tough to pull their trucks into parking spots. 90% of the time I back into a spot. About the only time I pull into one is if I have a straight shot or the opportunity to pull through to the next spot. To me the tighter the parking the easier it is to back in. Backing in you don't have to judge the swing of the long square front end and using your side view mirrors and backup camera you can pretty much see everything around you.

 

The first thing I did when I bought my Silverado was stick them round blind spot mirrors on. The factory blind spot mirror was usless, I couldn't even see the lines when backing into parking spots.

Same, I pull through into front spot at work of double spots and have enough parking spots to where I can overhang so I don't have anyone pull behind me and hit me. At the apartment I always back in.

In either vehicle I am in I will take an end spot (90% of the time) so only 1 car has an opportunity of parking next to me and pull through or back in

Most often I back into perpendicular spots. It is easier to see traffic when pulling out and there is more room from front end swing when backing. Unless I will be putting something into truck bed (lumber, etc.) I will pull through a double spot, also.

I find backing in is always easier when trying to park. My reasoning is this: wherever you park, you're gonna have to back out at some point. Might as well do it up front when it's easier and then make the quick getaway...

Back in every time, including my own driveway. Much easier to pull out straight. Not to mention i like seeing the front end when i come out of the store lol

Backing in is most definitely the best choice. I will almost always back in preferably into an end spot so only one person can give me door dings. It makes it much easier to get out especially in busy parking lots. I would be confident to say I can back in much faster than I can back out.

So you take up two spots so no one bumps your truck with a big steel chrome bumper, bumper pads and a trailer hitch on back?

the parking garage at my office has very narrow lanes and spaces. I back in every time. I mostly back in or pull through in other parking lots.

I back in whenever I can or pull through (corner spot if possible). There are several reason why but a couple are because it's easy to pull out and leave in heavy traffic and also you are more aware of your surroundings when you pull into/up to a spot than when you're leaving - especially after a long day of work - (unless you walk all the way around your truck...and backup cameras are helping with this issue). I learned this technique from some of traffic/safety people at our manufacturing plants.

 

For some reason it drives my wife nuts but as somebody said you have to backup at some point if you pull straight in.
