Read a few posts about this. Up front no this can't be done. The connector is different as well as a few other things so I've read.

 

In the same thread it was posted that the 2016 HD trucks, that are still the same body style as 2014-2015 1500 trucks, have HID Projector headlamps. I've only confirmed this by looking at a window sticker but haven't actually gotten to turn on the headlights of a 2016 HD yet.

 

This is for the Sierra's only.

To be fair, most of us read the caps as someone yelling. Idk why but for a lot of people (including me) it is really annoying.

 

To be helpful, the 2016 headlights are not going to work without some serious work. Most likely were gonna have to wait until an aftermarket company comes out with a plug and play setup /replica, maybe even with an bcm flash. It will not be cheap and I suggest you look into HID's

Will attempt to get intelligent Chevy parts man friend to look into the Sierra HD headlight internals and chech for similarities with. 14/15s.

And I (as many others) hate it when people post the same questions in a new thread over and over and over again, it clutters up the forums and makes it harder to find relevant information.

 

If you are so concerned with people helping him, where is your help? All you did was come in to complain about someone else and not help the OP...

 

OP, a quick search shows it is more than just connectors and headlights, there are BCM adjustments and they physically won't fit without new front end components. There have been mulptiple threads asking this same question the day this truck was reveleled.

There really hasn't been any discussion on the 2500HDs though. They have new HIDs for 2016 but still have the 2015 1500 body style.

Pretty sure if the mounting points are the same, then you can simply make a different harness/adapter that will make it work. It has to be a few simple inputs only, mixture of a few 12v on at different conditions only.

 

Besides, the 2016 headlights looks like shit compared to 2014-2015, install LED bulb and call it a day ;)

This has already been checked on. The mounting points are different on the 2016 versus the 2014/15, the harness is different as well from the 2014/15 trucks, the BCM has had changes as well from the 2014/15 trucks and there is wiring that runs to the BCM that the 214/15 trucks don't have as well.

 

Long story short, unless a miracle comes in the 2016 headlight assemblies will not fit into the 2014/15 trucks. I could see maybe trying to swap just the bulb into the fixture, but I am sure the projector and the reflector have been re-designed for the new LED bulb and the light pattern and cutoff will not be correct if you swap just the LED bulb.

 

I also asked the GM lighting engineer about this very question a couple of months ago, he said there absolutely no way you can retro the 2016 lights into the 2014/15 trucks. GM designed the lights like this for this very reason to kill any chance of backwards compatibility due to all of the certification processes the lights have to go thru with the .gov to meet DOT requirements.

Guess that means we will be looking after 2016 HD trucks that have the same style headlights as the 14/15 1500s but are HIDs with a new projector from the looks.

 

Personally I think the output is okay but if I can get great output by dropping in a different headlight with OEM HIDs plus a harness or two... I'm game.

 

I could get LED bulbs or drop in HIDs and drill/wire up that kit but OEM is all enclosed... I like that.

      I'm not sure if this should be a new topic, let me know if it's out of place. This my first post. Thanks 85077522 - AC Delco GM Genuine Parts Brake Master Cylinders. Anyone else had to replace this brake master cylinder yet. I didn't do any brake work, it looks like new parts and I've had the truck for about 4k miles, 119k total miles.  When it started to throw codes I did the calibrations with a bidirectional scanner and got the codes to clear but they came back so I did the routine; base bleed, automated bleed and final base bleed. All that with Bosch ES16-32N fluid (please look it up). That seemed to fix it but 100ish miles later it failed again so I ran the same process but with a pressure bleeder this time and got the same results, fixed for 100ish miles. The original fluid looked bad and I thought I got most of it out, it could've been the wrong fluid. The codes; P25A2, C05B0-00, C2A1B. I can get them to clear but not for long. The C05B0 indicates a leak in the front circuit (which is bone dry) so I'm thinking of doing the bleed process on that front again today and I don't know if that's taboo to just do the front but at this point it seems like it's worth the try anyway. The new master cylinder/module unit is supposed to get here today. But now I'm pretty much convinced this install is over my head. I've called several shops and some mobile guys that I know but this thing is like radio active material, scary wise. I did get 2 local shops say they should be able to do it, one says he has the SPS2 programing capability. And with the battery disconnected is there supposed to be pedal resistance, mine is to the floor, then if I pump it I can get some resistance. I had a panic stop prior to this issue which may have contributed from what I read. And on the first attempt to bleed and hydraulic test the scanner listed things to look for and one was any gaps between the pad and rotors which I did notice on the RF corner and I removed the outer pad (where the gap was) cleaned it and the hardware and didn't see a gap after that but will re-check it. I read that if pushing the caliper pistons back then you're supposed to open the bleeder so as to not push fluid backwards into the abs module or it will damage it. If that's true then that's also a possibility from the previous owner having the brakes changed before I got it. I'm using an XTool ip500 scanner. Any suggestions, questions and comments welcome.
